Features
Christian Mingle is a veteran in the online dating world, but in the past it was suffering from a lack of attention, since its features didn’t meet the growing expectations of Christian online daters. Instead of giving up, Christian Mingle has risen as a phoenix, sporting a user-friendly design and some elevated matchmaking features. The site boasts millions of users, and has become a center of online matchmaking for Christian singles.
Getting Started
Signing up for Christian Mingle is simple and free. When registering for an account, you are asked a set of easy questions required to create a successful dating profile. This information includes your zip code, gender, age, height, and some of your habits, such as drinking or smoking. The system also asks about your faith and how you practice it. As expected from a service aimed toward Christians, there are quite lot denominations to choose from. Among others, the list includes Anglican, Apostolic, Charismatic, Catholic, Methodic, Pentecostal, Orthodox and Seven-Day Adventist. You are also asked how often you attend church, and you have the option to write more about your beliefs in the introduction section of your profile. The registration ends with a confirmation email and a photo upload.
The first thing that struck us after logging in to Christian Mingle is the slick and clean design. The site’s style and general ease of use is worthy of any leading social media site. Changing between pages is dynamic, and most features are represented with visual tools. For example, your chosen hobbies are represented on your profile with a set of nice images, instead of a boring list of words.
Matching System
The matchmaking is pretty straightforward on Christian Mingle, and it won’t cause a headache to learn the ropes. You can either search manually among the millions of users who are members on the site, or ask the help of the matchmaking engine to highlight your soulmate. There are a set of preferences you can influence, such as your partner’s age, drinking habits, church, ethnicity and so on, most of them are adjustable conveniently on a scale. In case you are up to some “mingling”, or just feel adventurous, then make sure to give the Secret Admirer function a chance. It’s like a Christian Tinder, where the system shows you random profiles, and you can decide if you fancy the person or not. The system automatically notifies both singles upon a mutual match. Interestingly, it’s also possible to look up members by their names or IDs, which is a nice touch and could lead to some refreshing search results.
Communication
Christian Mingle’s communication methods are a bit plain. You can get your loved one’s attention by sending a smile, then start sending messages to each other, and if things really knack between you, then it’s appropriate to move on to live chatting. Unfortunately the ability to meaningfully contact anyone is locked behind paywalls, although reserving it for premium members is a common occurrence in the online dating world. Still, there are other ways to get someone’s attention. On your profile page, several faith-related questions are waiting for you to answer them, thus shining your conviction or personal beliefs. This is a great way to show others your inner self. On the other end, when browsing for your significant one, make sure to pay attention to the percentage displayed on the top half of a profile, since it represents how many traits you share.
Mobile
As expected, Christian Mingle keeps up with current trends by fully supporting smartphone and tablet usage. The site has a mobile-friendly version, but frankly, you won’t need it unless your phone uses Windows’ operating system. As it stands, Christian Mingle has a native app available for both iOS and Android systems. You don’t even need to look them up in their respective online store, just enter your phone number on the website, and they instantly send you the download link. Naturally, the app version knows everything the full site has to offer (with the exception of uploading images straight from your phone), but in a more compact form designed for touch-based controls. The menus are more transparent with less useless empty space, and a bigger emphasis on profile images. Sadly the app tends to glitch every now and then; many users report that they’re having difficulties accessing the app, so make sure not to abandon the web version completely.
Pricing
Christian Mingle doesn’t overcomplicate things when it comes to its pricing. The situation is simple: you are free to set up an account and browse other Christian profiles to your heart’s content, but if you wish to send a message or live chat, then you must subscribe. The premium membership won’t drain down your budget too much. There are three subscription plans, but they only differ in their length.
The month-by-month plan costs you $29.99 with each renewal. The quarterly plan is a bit easier on your wallet, since it charges only $18.99 per month, billed $56.97 in one payment. The most cost-effective option is still the semi-annual plan, as you only need to pay $13.99 per month, which adds up to $83.94 altogether. From time to time there is a temporary coupon or other promotional offer through which you can enjoy a discount on subscriptions, such as 10% off all plans, making it worthwhile to take a minute to check on the latest coupons for Christian Mingle.
Customer Service
We found the customer support with Christian Mingle more than satisfying. The site isn’t complicated to use, but if you come across a question or run into a problem, the support team is ready to help on live chat 24/7, which is more than reassuring. Alternatively, a ticket can be also submitted with the helpdesk, or you can visit the forum and ask other members for advice. As for the live chat team, they are very responsive, and sometimes contact users on their own who are seemingly having difficulties, effectively saving your time and energy.
Bottom Line
Christian Mingle turned out to be a more than pleasant experience for us. Their dating service is without a doubt up to par with some of the larger general dating sites, such as Match.com, OkCupid or even eHarmony. Even though the site may not have many unique features, the matchmaking is well-layered enough to provide enough diversity. You get daily recommendations but the search process is customizable as well. The Secret Admirer function is also a nice addition, not to mention the profile system is simple yet complete at the same time. Still, the well-designed and convenient interface is what has blown us away. The customer support team was eager to help as well as highly proactive, which is another plus in our book. Lastly, the pricing system is straightforward. Their subscription rates are competitive by default, while there are occasionally coupons and promotions that help you further sweeten the deal with minor discounts. If you are searching for a stylish and polished dating site that caters to Christians, then look no further, as Christian Mingle is a more than perfect choice.

I like the general layout of the site, and if you get in on one of their lower price sales, it can be ok to try. However, be warned that if you are a woman in your 30s and divorced that almost nobody on there will give you the time of day. It is very depressing, but that is not a problem with the site, but with users who will overtly judge you if you are in your 30s and if you are divorced – if you are both, prepare for some rejection. The other problem is that they have a small database, and you may need to consider dating users far away on this site. However, most of the profiles seem to explicitly talk about their relationship to God/Christ, so at least if you are looking for someone who is not just labeling him/herself a Christian, then you may find more serious people in their faith here, but just wish that there were more people subscribing. I don’t think non-subscribers can talk to you. Oh, and it is ridiculous for people to complain about the site when they deliberately break the rules and are banned for doing so. You are given all that information up front. Oh, also if you are going through a divorce that is not finalized, they will not let you be a member until it is, but I believe eharmony is like that too. I went through that, and they shut my account down (I had put the date of my divorce in the profile, as you know it takes a long time to go through the whole process, but I called in and the reps were very nice about it, and gave the full prorated refund. They also held my account and said to send them a copy of my divorce certificate when it was final, and hey would gladly put the profile back up, and I could use my refund to rejoin. That is better customer service than any dating site I have ever had. Match.com has the WORST.

I joined CM just a short while ago, and my account was hacked twice. After the second time, I was not able to sign in. After explaining this to them, they were not able to help me, and I was not able to change my account information. I was refused a refund of the remaining time I had invested. And you call this a Christian dating service. Unfortunately, there are people who drag around the name of Christ, and Christian Mingle is one of them!

I joined CM thinking surely this is a safe sight just to find it is the worst sight to be on. I met nothing but scammers using photos other then there own. Wanting money and when that didn’t work with me, tried to intimidate me and scare me. The last one was from the middle East. I blocked him from all contacts, he then sent me a friend request on FB. He was from the Middle East. CM is definitely a target sight for scammers. The CM sight needs to clean up there act before some poor un expecting woman gets physically hurt or killed. I agree with the other reviews, stay off CM its not safe.

I was like, “Yeah! Christian Mingle! Let’s go!” Then I got to the front page. I am not a man. I am not seeking a man. I got really flustered. I rolled a dice to determine which option I should choose. If I rolled odd I would be a man seeking a woman, and if I rolled even I would be a woman seeking a man. The dice rolled under the couch, and my couch is huge. I wasted half an hour trying to get my dice back, and I got a bunch of dust and crap all over my front. Overall, I had a very poor experience with Christian Mingle. They turned me into an atheist. I hope they are happy.

I joined this site and promptly found nothing but Nigerian scammers and people using the site as a 12 step program for this, that, or the next debilitating mental condition. Why on earth would I want to date someone with a ton of problems and crippled when they claim to have freedom through Christ? I lost $57.00 too, but it was the best money I’d ever lost when I realized these were nothing but bleeding and wounded sheep, many who openly post they’re not looking for anyone. Ok, so why the heck are you on a dating site? Stop wasting folks’ time and money by falsely increasing the number of “available people”.
My advice? If you can access the forums on a dating site, read what the women have to say before loading your CC. I wish I had, but at least I learned never to make that mistake again. NEVER join christian mingle!

Another online dating service that attempts to eradicate the joy and the warmth of real time relationships. I cannot reconcile a dating website that tells you they will find Gods match for you, I find their tag line offensive and incredibly misleading, how dare they suggest that they are a pipeline to God and that they collaborate with God in finding you a partner and if you were gay would they still find Gods match for you. The whole thing is seedy.

I subscribed so I could contact others and give contact info to unsubscribers so they could contact me and I would put my phone number in the subject line of the msg so they could see it as an unsubscriber and christianmingle.com permanently deleted my account for breaking contract rules. They robbed me of $40 and refuse to refund me. Useless site and I highly discourage any christian or any person from using this site. They are all about the $. These people are not true Christians they are a disgrace to God and everyone else
