The site was brought to life with the premise of serving the needs of aging daters, and has therefore developed features specifically for this niche audience. There are several matchmaking routes that users can take, whether that’s searching for partners near their location, browsing recommended profiles or mingling with random selections.
If you’ve found someone who meets your desires, then warm their heart with messages, virtual gifts or start chatting right away. The dating experience is also fully customizable with token-based perks and gold membership.
Features
OurTime gathered a large user base over the years, made possible by its membership in People Media’s OurTime Community, which includes other elderly dating sites such as SeniorPeopleMeet.com. Being part of a larger network is always beneficial for a service, as proven by the thriving community found on the site.
Getting Started
The quick and user-friendly registration process is designed to ensure that even the least technologically savvy user will be able to navigate the process with ease. After inputting some basic information such as gender, age, location (with zip code) and username, you’ll be asked to upload a profile picture, although this step can be kept for later.
Completing the signup only takes a minute and right after that you’ll find yourself on the main screen. The overall design and layout is very barebones, but it works to the site’s advantage since the users – aged 50 or beyond – likely won’t be overwhelmed by features.
The toolbars are self-explanatory and the matchmaking sections are well-organized. Profile management is also easy to understand, clearly marking which part can be edited in addition to a percentage highlighting the completeness of the profile.
Matching System
Managing your online dating adventures is fairly straightforward. The site keeps track of every interaction others have with you: when someone likes your photo, views your profile or sends a flirt, you will know exactly who that was. Taking the initiative in your hands? You can either run a custom search by setting certain filters (age, location, ethnicity, habits etc.) or rely on the recommendations delivered by the matchmaking engine.
Those feeling adventurous can try the “I’m Interested” mode, a Tinder-style system where you pick ‘yay’ or ‘nay’ for a selection of chosen profiles. In this case, if you both say yay, the system will introduce you to each other.
One noteworthy feature of OurTime.com is what we are calling ‘Me Perks’. With a special currency called tokens the user can activate one-time or temporary benefits. PromoteMe puts your profile at the top of the search lists for an hour, increasing the chance of being noticed by others. MatchMe places you in a selected person’s roster of daily matches to test whether your appearance piques their interest. Lastly, there is NotifyMe. Again, here you choose a partner and you’ll receive a notification every time your chosen profile comes online, ensuring the two of you won’t miss each other.
Communication
When it comes to reaching out to your beloved match, the old-fashioned route of sending a message or asking a question to break the ice is a tried-and-true method. Don’t worry, though, even if you aren’t good with words, OurTime presents a list of pre-made questions to help start a conversation.
Of course, the fastest way of communicating is undeniably through the live chat, but unfortunately this is restricted to gold members. Yet one exciting way of winning your crush’s heart is by giving a virtual gift. These are nice visuals that show your affection to someone without the two of you meeting in person.
When it comes to real life encounters, OurTime displays several group events in your location. If you and your sweetheart are ready to meet in person then just agree to attend one of these and have a good time together.
Mobile
Smartphone support is becoming a key feature when it comes to online dating since people like to spend their free time chatting with potential new partners. Whether it’s on a lunchbreak, waiting for the train or just relaxing in bed, your phone is always at hand – so why not check on your dating profile?
OurTime caters to tech-loving users with its mobile-friendly site and smartphone app, available for iOS and Android. The app puts a new spin on the design, making it more stylish and compressed. Navigating, browsing profiles and chatting are far easier on the touchscreen, although it’s best to complete the signup from a desktop browser. Bear in mind, though, that only premium members have access to the mobile version.
Pricing
OurTime is the sort of service that is free-to-use on the surface but includes several paywalls at its core, hiding certain crucial features. To make matters worse the content is separated further meaning that even a premium membership won’t get users full access to all of the perks.
There is a monthly plan charging $29.96 per month and a semi-annual plan costing $15 per month (billed as a payment of $90). However, there is a “Best Value” plan that also lasts for half a year, but has a price tag of $17.96 per month.
In exchange, your messages and profile will be highlighted, while the NotifyMe feature will become activated for you, which would otherwise require paid-for tokens. Speaking of which, it’s probably worth mentioning the premium token currency that’s in play here, too, which must be purchased separately: 25 tokens cost $0.99, 110 tokens come in at $3.99 and 280 tokens are sold for $9.99. This currency can be used to temporarily boost your popularity or sending a virtual gift.
There is one last issue worth highlighting. The site seems to use a rather underhanded tactic to trick seniors into purchasing the Best Value subscription plan by showcasing a 10-minute countdown, suggesting that the deal is a limited-time special offer that they might end up missing out on. However, after the counter reaches zero the offer still remains available, most likely because it’s a permanent subscription plan.
Customer Service
OurTime.com has a rather low-key approach to customer support. There is a small link labeled as ‘Help’ at the bottom of the website, in a small font size that could be easily missed by an aging user. Clicking on it leads to an FAQ that covers many topics with quite detailed answers.
The link to the contact page is also hidden here, too. If you have any lingering questions or wish to report any concerns, the only option is to submit a ticket and wait for the reply. There is no live chat, direct email address to the admin team, or phone number – which isn’t helped by the obscure nature of the existing help that is available.
Bottom Line
Since an account is free, there is nothing to lose if you sign up for OurTime. However, really consider whether it’s worth becoming a gold member or not. The site delivers on the promise of creating a matchmaking platform for singles above 50, but the quality of the service is more than a little shaky.
The design is perhaps overly simplistic, and most of the dating tools are unavailable for free users. The truly unique and interesting features (those ‘Me Perk’ benefits) require you to purchase additional premium currency instead of coming free with the gold membership, which is made worse by the fact that these perks are either temporary or single-use only. The subscription plans are within affordable limits when opting for the longer subscription, but the site uses some underhanded tactics to convince seniors to opt for the more expensive plan.
Positives
- Affordable pricing
- Smartphone support
- Versatile matchmaking options
- Perk system
Negatives
- Pushy sales tactics
- Extra token system
- Weak customer support

Hello AnthonyM, and thank you for your comment! We’re glad that you enjoyed OurTime, even if it was for a brief time. Truth be told, having three nice coffee dates in a span of four weeks is quite an achievement!
We completely agree about the clickbait pop-ups – OurTime’s pushy sales tactics are one of the service’s major drawbacks. We understand that dating sites sell extra services for an added cost, but they could be more upfront about it. If someone really wants to know whether a member read their email, they’ll subscribe to it without the need for pop-ups.
Since you’ve already contacted customer service, we’re afraid you won’t be able to help you get your account back. Did customer support give you an exact reason why your profile was considered spam? It’s a bit strange – you’re a legitimate dater, after all.
We hope you the best on your future dates!

I was a satisfied member for about 4 weeks, taking a subscription after the first week. I went on 3 coffee dates in 3 weeks which I thought was great, considering Covid and all. Then, a couple of things occurred that when put together ended up getting me banned. When you send an email to a member, there are clickbait popups that “trick” you into choosing the wrong option and being charged $9.97 instantly for a stupid service (being able to know that the member read your email). I made a fatal mistake of disputing the charge with my CC co, instead of OurTime. OurTime credited back all my money when the CC co disputed the 9.97 charge, cancelling my subscription. I was able to talk to support and find out how to create a 2nd account and they gave me 7 free day to finalize my old account. At that time I went on the third coffee date and we exchanged phone numbers through the emails, she giving me her number first and me responding with my number. Then very next day my account was locked. I called support and they couldn’t find anything wrong at first. Then he found something that may have explained which was that I was banned for spamming. The only thing that could explain it was that I sent my phone number in the email. I could not believe that the CS person was telling me this. In one month, I reported at least 20 fake accounts with their phone number buried in their personal info. But I get kicked out for exchanging phone numbers legitimately. I complained, letting them know that this was a case of their spam software mistakenly tagging me, but it did not matter once the damage is done. I did promise I would go the social media and start a campaign over this practice.
Even though i was wronged, I still ourtime is a decent site, and I think that the majority of profiles are valid. As I said earlier, I was able to have 3 nice coffee dates…though they didn’t lead to anything, I was able to at least enjoy their company for at least an hour or so.

Don’t waste your hard earned money on this site. I tried for 1 month, sent out over 100 messages and the only response I received was from a woman who I had seen on another site. She stated that my profile pictures aren’t like the ones she received when I messaged her. I was wondering why Salt Lake City was my default area. I went in and found the city and my pictures were not what I uploaded and the pictures were of a guy a good 10 years younger than me. I never got a reply again from anyone. Well I went in today just to look around, never will I pay for this site again. My profile was still available but my pictures were gone. Thankfully. While looking on the site I found a profile of someone I know who hasn’t been on the site for over a year. The 5 pictures she originally had were there and her profile was not even close to what she originally written and I suspect her pictures are being used as a scam. Occupation, height, build, religion, education, children, pets weren’t her. The synopsis was not even a description of her. So be very wary of this site, waste of time, money and effort.

Lots of pictures, but few living active members. One man remained on a year after he died. He had a paid membership. I informed them twice.

From a technical perspective, the site is clunky at best. The matching system is as useless as Trump. At least the gender has been right – most of the time.
That said, from most of the complaints I’ve read, people haven’t been able to make meaningful connections for whatever reasons. I recently joined and within a couple of days have had some nice conversations with a couple local women that I plan to meet in the next few days. It might be an age thing – I’m in an older demographic. Life experience might be the best navigator through the bullshit that permeates these sites. Anyway, I haven’t met these ladies yet but I did enjoy some very real chat conversations. My BS meter is reasonably well tuned and I feel….cautiously optimistic about the service so far. Stay tuned.
Joseph Rabito says
Run from this site do not walk RUN!!!
There is no way to know if you as a paying member are writing to a member who can reply!!
There is no time stamps on messages
Its not cheap and check the auto pay and your bill they charged for a 1 year membership another user was charged 600.00 I got my money back! I also canceled my subscription
Matches not matching search requirements for age or distance
Message infolder OMG does not indicate new or old messages
If someone is logged into the chat feature and they arent a paying member they cant see or respond to your chat message so I dont know why they are even allowed or said to be active
I can go on but like i told the customer service rep this is by far the most antiquated dating site on the web
Sandy says
After reading favorable reviews about OurTime.com on the Internet I thought I would try it. Within an hour of paying my money I realized it was a scam.
People Media Inc, the owners of Ourtime, has 382 complaints filed with the BBB and received an F rating. https://www.bbb.org/dallas/business-reviews/dating-service/people-media-in-dallas-tx-90248947
I am including my personal review of the site:
OurTime is an online dating site targeting the over 50 crowd. It seems like a good idea, but the system lacks a great deal of functionality and the number of people you can contact is limited.
Anyone can sign up for a free account and view profiles, but they can not communicate with other members. Anyone who is curious about the site must create a free profile to see if they will like it. This creates the illusion of having many members on the site, but in reality most are no longer using the site and even if they are, you are not able to communicate with them.
Free members are able to send Flirts and view profiles, but you must be a paid member to use any other feature. Once you become a paid member you will be able to receive flirts from unpaid members which means your inbox will be cluttered up with flirts from people cannot reply to any message you send them.
The flirt function is a simple one click button so you can click on hundreds of profiles in a very short time – even though you did not read their profile and not able to follow up with further communication.
To make matters worse you have no way of knowing who is a paid member and who is not so if you see someone you are interested in and spend the time to read their profile and send them a message there is a very good chance that they will never see or read your message. As a paid member you will be able to see if they have read your message, but that is after you have already invested your energy into writing to a person that you think you might like.
There is a “Match” feature that creates daily matches for you. However those matches have nothing to do with the search criteria you are using and therefore are useless.
The software runs slowly and even though I am a paid member the site contains ads that clutter up the screen.
The chat feature will allow not allow me to enter more than about 8 words without locking up, so I need to type a few words, hit enter, and type a few more and hit enter just to type a sentence.
Along with the ads that clutter up your screen there are popup boxes that popup every time someone views your profile. Although I’m sure some people like that I find both the ads and popup boxes distracting.
Once you become a paid member you will have the opportunity to pay for extra features by buying tokens. You will need tokens to use the Match Me, Promote Me, and Notify Me features or to give virtual gifts.
I do not recommend anyone use this system unless you are bored and don’t mind browsing through inactive profiles and reading through automated messages that are sent to your inbox automatically when someone clicks on a button on profile before going on the next profile.
The one plus of this system is that customer care responded to my concerns very quickly. They were not able solve any of my concerns but they responded very quickly and confirmed that there was no way for me to know who was a paid member and which members were no longer active.
There are better online dating sites out there that are more user friendly operated by companies that have more integrity and value your time. I would definitely give this site a thumbs down.
Toine says
Thank you, your review helped me make my decision. I’m trying to find a good dating site.
Joann says
Yes. This was very helpful. I subscribed to match.com for six months and within the first week I knew it was a big mistake. I keep getting emails from Out Time and am so glad I read your reviews. Is there a legitimate dating site out there one that is actually truthful and trustworthy?
Nunya Bidness says
Thanks for your honest review. You confirmed my suspicions and I’m cancelling my “free” account today.

I joined ourtime. Horrible mistake. The “matches” were rarely in my range of ages let alone gender. Lots of creepers who made me want to take a shower. I tried to be polite but guys saying they would move to be my “man” after one email was so wrong on many levels. I couldn’t find a way to get a refund or I would have after one week.
rosina says
Not to mentions that my account was hacked twice over the weekend and I only joined 4 days ago and no customer service available over the weekend either! Email only let them close my account temporarly! Our Time really sucks! Yes, they have a lot of scammers which change their accounts with the same pictures with a different location every day! I wonder who is real there?! My first chat with a nice man was about this, he told me not to give out my phone number nor my email address because they can be hacked! I didn’t listen to him.. After the first hacking Friday evening I changed the email to the account but they still managed somehow to hack it Sunday morning, even nobody knew it except the company. I wonder if there is some security issue with the company’s website? Just started researching on Google how such can be done?

I think I got taken in by that same guy. He said he was ‘my man’, I was ‘his woman’, before we’d even met in person.

I set up a free account and was enticed to join by a large number of fake messages. “Photo likes”, flirts or other non-communications are funneled into the INBOX to appear as messages. They are NOT. There was also a solicitation for sex. Really a distasteful site.
I was a member less than an hour before canceling my account. OurTime customer service is inline with their site. My request for a refund was rejected. Avoid this scummy site. (I meant to type scammy site, but autocorrect gave it what it deserves).

I would not recommend Ourtime to anyone. I really think they need to do a better job in screening the profiles. Since I joined last year I have come across tons of scammers and fake profiles . They don’t send me matches in the preferences I picked. I am a women looking for a man and they send me matches for women and men that are way out side of what I am looking for. I send and reply back to emails and get no replies, I noticed most men just want to chat for hours and never met up with you.
Every time I sign in there are lots of profiles they say I viewed and I never viewed them, I delete them and there are more the next day. So is Ourtime adding them because I am not viewing them? I took my account off of auto renewal and will be deleting my profile at the end of the month. What a waste of money and my time, I have reached the point that I hate signing into their site.
One user had my profile removed and when I contacted Our time and asked why they told me they could not see why it was removed and put it back. Then the next day is was removed again and I called them and they put it back. I told them I knew who reported it, they asked me the username and told them. They told me I was right and that they have had lots of complaints about the user. They asked me about my experience with him and I told them I went out with him two times. The first time I had a good time with him and the second time he acted like he was off of his meds and I felt scared. I left and never looked back. Told them I did a background check on him and everything he told me was a lie. His profile status states widower, he is not a widower, he is divorced . I also found out more about him and I really think they should check everyone out before they let them on the site. They told me he has violated the sites standards and he will be removed. Well guess what he is still on the site
I know the dating sites tell us to be careful and met in a public place. But they need to screen everyone better, keep the scammers and fake profiles off. Why should we pay and have to deal with these people?
Lara Samason says
Personally, I did not have a positive experience on this site. This was mainly due to heavy advertising on my personal home page of OurTime. I have been on several dating websites that are fantastic, and no advertising! I can understand that free dating sites use advertising, but when you are paying (OurTime is not free), then having to put up with advertising is just tacky. Because of this I only visited the OurTime website a few times and ended up wasting a bunch of money. I do not recommend.

My time on OurTime was a joke to say the least. 99% of female profile interests were kayaking, biking, golfing, hiking, mountain climbing, clubbing and “kicking up their heels” (who says this), bungee jumping, are you kidding me. What kind of meds are these woman on. If I was going to date one of these individuals I’d make sure I was carrying a defibulator.
When I responded to messages the word “yup” was in most of the reply’s? Same person?
My profile was deleted twice and a totally new one replaced and composed of complete garbage.
I am assuming this was all the doings of employees of OurTime.
I would think a lawsuit should be forthcoming, what with all these negative and fraudulent money withdrawals.
I have since deleted my account with these predators and are keeping a watchful eye on my cc account.
DO YOURSELF A SOLID AND STAY AWAY!

THIS SITE IS LOADED WITH SCAMMERS!!!! I was talking to a Veterinarian from Texas, who turned out to be a Nigerian scammer living in Malaysia. Total profile, including pictures, were fake. When I emailed his info to Romancescams.org, they immediately identified him as an illegal Nigerian scammer living in Malaysia. If he can be easily identified as a scammer, why doesn’t the dating site protect the consumer from these predators?? Dating sites need to:
*Crack down on scammers by identifying and shutting down the accounts of those who pay with stolen credit cards, checking IP addresses to verify profiles’ listed locations; employing algorithms to detect suspicious language patterns used by scammers; and using image searches to identify fake profiles used across various dating websites.
*Issue early warning alerts to any member who’s been in contact with someone using a fake profile.
*Educate members with tips on how to spot and avoid romance scammers — and provide resources and contact information for those who’ve been victimized.
NOT ENOUGH IS BEING DONE TO PROTECT THE CONSUMER. THESE SCAMMERS GET AWAY WITH MEGA $$$$$ AND THEY WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO UNLESS THEY ARE STOPPED. BEWARE OF SCAMMERS—IF IT LOOKS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY IS….

Yes, this site is awful…I’ve encountered 5 scammers and one pervert who sent me pictures of him nude and his “woody” so disgusting that I’m not willing to try this site or any other again. Sure wish they gave a 10 day free period before we pay to use a service like this with predators on women, especially widows.
Ali says
Wanted to say that their marketing techniques are aimed to make users emotionally broken, so they’s keep looking for a new partner. For example, the flashing sign ‘available for chat’ at the right upper corner cost me our fist fight. I found a man and wanted to cancel my account. Before doing that I wanted to look at his page one more time. That flashing sign was on telling me that he is online. I started communicating with him and he wasn’t responding. I called him asking why and he said that he wasn’t online there. Usually, computer system never lies, it just record what’s happening in a real time. So, I thought he is lying. And we had a small fight. It was unpleasant. Later, we found out that the flash was just flashing without him being online at all. So, why would the system set up deceiving the clients? To break emotionally and make the clients to keep looking; hence, keep paying. That’s my conclusion…Besides, clicking on Help link brings you nowhere…
Stumpy McElroy says
STA AWAY! beware the scammers on the site and also who RUN this site. support from India. phone support limited hours. email support takes days to reply and then usually of no help. Hard to get refund even when you follow their terms EXACTLY. use virtual credit card number and limit amount and number of times card can be used or expect to have to dispute with your bank. Their match algo sucks…sends men matches who are men or women matches who are women….sends you matches from out of your preferred area and no regard to your specific preferences.
Ocasionally you do hook up with good people…but not very often
Joylee says
With all these bad reviews I see, I guess I’m shocked. I just joined this dating site 2 months ago for 6 months. Now I’m worried I just wasted my money. I just removed any renewal of my account, or may have to cancel my credit card, and have a new card issued if Our Time doesn’t honor my request.
I have to ask how can you trust any of the dating websites? How do you know which ones are genuine?
My conclusion is they could all be greedy and crooked. It’s best to stay away from all of them. Read bad reviews of other date sites also.
Terri says
My husband used this site to cheat on me. Watch out ladies there must be a lot of cheaters on the site.

Amen ! The service is very unsatisfactory. The site is maddeningly fragile, and lockups may occur at any point. I haven’t been able to find a corporate level help function, as numbers are cleverly hidden, Info provided on the screen includes items like “Inbox” and “new”, which often lead to an unrelated page. The is no time indicator, so it is often awkward to find an unread message.. Emails announcing a “faves” request lead to gosh knows where, but not to the attractive young lady you want to contact. Finally, drop-down ads obscure a large fraction of the screen, thus compromising information gathering. A site-related window also drops at any time, thus gobbling up another 10% or so. One last item: there are many occasions of dropdown ads urging you to buy something else – something you thought you already had. I feel that I just wasted a hundred bucks !

I had the exact same experience from the rip off web site. I think the must just make up profiles and get some photos off of google images or something. I’ve met only 2 people on this site and never had a face to face date, I get messages when I get to the home page that I have a message from some one but when I clicked on it to read it, it says ” you have no messages ”
I also turned off my auto renew tab because it’s a rip off, but they already extended me without me asking. I think I will have to change my credit card too.

I signed up for a 6 month subscription because I finally saw one profile out of hundreds I wanted to reply to. Little did I know, the “recurring” charge was automatic and they don’t email you a notice that it’s taking place. A common “trick” because in their “agreement” once they bill you it’s final. So if you don’t keep track of the renewal yourself, you can’t cancel. I called them a few days after I saw the charge on my card – not only did they NOT refund my 90., they cancelled my account so I could not use it for the remaining 6 months I paid for. NASTY BUSINESS PEOPLE. Going to a bar to meet people is more friendly!

Wow, I thought I had 24 messages from people who I LIKED… so, after refreshing the ‘update your membership’ page about 3 times, you get 50% off deal… nevermind the timer, you can always reset that. Stupid me signed up… $50 for 6 months…
So, 23 of 24 was from the same ugly girl and the other was an introduction email. Argh!
The matches are always with people too far away.. the ones you want to talk to have to be members as well, or no dice, no email.
Tonight, I kept getting bombarded with malicious code attempts.
Take my advice… DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY… I’m going to dispute the charge!

The prices are now almost double what are posted here and not worth it at the lower price. All of the commentary here about the misleading nature of the site are true. I signed up to try it out and they reminded me that I agreed to the payment and initially refused a refund, but eventually did grant me one (we’ll see if it actually goes through).
Via mobile you are presented profiles and asked if you are interested (yes/no) without the ability to look at their profile. If you say yes, they send messages to the individual without your explicit permission. And even if you say no the same people are presented to you over and over again.
Rick says
This site actually fills in your ‘a little about me’ section if you don’t fill it out. When I hid my profile and deleted that section content, when cancelling my paid subscription, they auto filled it.
“I’ve always been an old soul. I enjoy my whiskey and my jazz. I love a good night of music and talking. Love classics and authenticity.”
This is all completely false and filled in by Ourtime without my permission or consent. It also portrays me as an alcoholic. I’m fairly certain this is illegal and is definitely slanderous at best.
I will be forwarding this to Internet Fraud agencies as well as using all Social Media sites to spread the message.
Dale says
They are thieves. I regret ever trusting them. You can’t do anything, their so called free trial is to snag all your info and pictures then when you try to chat with someone they tell you ya have to pay them so much per month be very careful as the prices are set up in a way that seems cheap but it is not cheap. I didn’t fall for it and deleted my profile and they keep putting my info back in so I will have to get a lawyer to have it removed. Stay away from these guys.

I only average about 1 or 2 views of my profile, per day, when I have a Ourtime subscription. I might get 1 message every week or two. However the day after my subscription runs out I am suddenly averaging about 20 views of my profile and several messages per day. Once I renew my subscription I discover that virtually all of these supposed messages are bogus. In addition as soon as I renew my subscription I immediately drop down to 1 or two views per day and 1 message ever week or so.
In addition several weeks ago when I still had a paid subscription I was suddenly no longer able to view profiles that did not have pictures posted. This was despite the fact that I had “either” (photos or no photos) checked off in the search requirements. Customer service was of no help whatsoever. They suggested I try this and that, and none of what they suggested fixed the problem. I tried opening my profile in different browsers and even with different computers. Nothing fixed the problem. All they told me was that they would report the problem to their technical section. It’s too bad that their technical department (if it even really exists) did nothing to fix the problem. And after enduring a few weeks of not getting the service that I paid for, my subscription ran out.
At that point I deleted my profile and then created a new one from scratch. And I still cannot search for and see anyone’s profile which doesn’t have a photo attached. In addition I can no longer choose how I wish to view my supposed matches. I also get the same matches all the time. And now they are pushing me to subscribe again, since I supposedly have numerous messages waiting for me in my inbox.
Don’t waste your money on this site. They don’t deliver the services that you pay for, they don’t/can’t fix the problems that occur and everything about the site says scam. I have profiles posted on other sites and none of them even remotely come close to being as bad as this site is.
I believe in the statement that if you don’t have something good about someone then you should refrain about saying anything about them. However there comes a time when one has to stand up for what is right and identify a scam as a scam.

I have had pretty much the same thing happen to me as my subscription was ending. 230 plus reviews when I only had 3 or 4 people review my profile the previous 6 months.
James Rowland says
OurTime is actually a terrible site. One of the big problems is their marketing schemes. Beginning two months ago (5 months before my subscription is up) I started seeing a window that prevents me from using my page until I clear it and tell them I’m not interested in renewing early. I constantly have to call and ask why I can’t log into the site. I see a message constantly reminding me that the card I used originally expires before the end of my subscription…they seem worried that they can’t automatically renew. I can only see a part of the people that fit my requirements. In order to see new ones I have to block some old ones. Most sites let you see ALL of the potential. I am not going to renew my subscription and am sorry that I wasted my money here.
Ruth says
This business has very dubious billing practices. The good news is, you can dispute the charge with your bank–if you do not explicitly agree to be billed recurrently, then you can dispute under the category of “did not renew.” You have approximately 90 days from the date the charge posts to your account to dispute it, so the sooner you contact your bank, the better. I should know….I work in merchant disputes for a very large bank, and we process disputes against these people ALL THE TIME. Their rating with BBB is ‘F’ and for very good reason. What they are doing is not fraudulent, (in banking terms), but very bad business practices. Use your billing rights under MasterCard and Visa to fight back; each chargeback against a merchant costs them more money than what they are billing you for, and hurts their relationship with their own bank. Good for you, bad for them. Eventually they will lose the ability to even process payments from Visa and MasterCard if enough people file disputes against them.
They billed me for $119.00 when I selected the “one month” option. I filed a complaint with the BBB, entered a dispute with PayPal, and sent three emails to the website, letting them know that if I wasn’t refunded in full I was going to dispute the charge; I never received any services from them, as I attempted to cancel immediately. The reason I had a case for dispute is because they did not disclose the amount I would be charged prior to processing my payment. This violates several sections of the Fair Credit Act as well as Reg Z. If you accept any “services” from an entity, or do not file against them in a timely manner you can lose your right to dispute the charge. I received a full refund from them the NEXT DAY.
Merchants can challenge any dispute, and if you have used their services AT ALL, they can and will say that although the services were not what you expected, they were still available to you. This makes the charge valid. So time is of the essence; once you’ve accepted and used the site, you’re subject to the terms and conditions of the site, and your bank cannot compel the merchant to return the funds.
However. Some banks–such as the one I work for–have a relationship with this merchant’s bank which enables them to issue a permanent credit to your account WITHOUT going through the dispute process. This is because of all the things I’ve stated above; it’s cheaper for them to just refund to you than to have hundreds of thousands of chargebacks against them. Know your rights; Google credit card dispute rights and Fair Credit Act, Reg Z for more information.

Horrible site, false emails, poor sorting, double flirts and emails, false views…more and more issue. I deleted my profile and its still up and can be viewed.

Like another reviewer I just need to vent. HORRIBLE. I set up a profile just answered some questions, nothing written or a picture. Then looked – no one interesting. They sent me a potential match and he looked great so I joined. Saw once I joined he hadn’t been on the site in 7 months. The other matches were NOTHING what I wanted, It’s like I never stated what I liked. Smokers, religious, conservative . . . nothing I wanted. I Joined for one month, but they billed me for 6, sold my email address (LOADS of spam the next day which I never get). Call center in Philippines so I finally got my money back. Can’t believe they are still in business.

Yawn . . . OurTime = SnoozeTime. A chorus of crickets, anyone?
Membership participation and responsiveness on this site has to be the worst I’ve seen ever. Does anyone there exist in the world of the living? There is always the potential member who has promise, but flakes out and drops away after some great communication, and then the other usual encounter with the old bait n’ switch artist. Overall, the experience turned out to be your run-of-the-mill dating website. I joined with a higher expectation considering the site was intended to skew members in the higher department of maturity, but there’s a lack of energy and motivation that is just too overbearing.
Shutting down.
Cris On says
Our Time is a scam. They have the most unattractive people on the site and most of them are fake profiles. A lot of the profiles don’t have a picture and not even anything on the profile. Please call your credit card company and see if you can dispute the amounts they charged you. I called mine and they should issue me a refund in 3-5 days. Don’t let these people rip you off.

Our Time? More like Outta Time! These money hungry morons couldnt get a date in a leper colony so, while crying in their beers, they concocted this bunch of dribble to torture the rest of the known universe in retaliation instead of actually getting a real job, taking social interaction lessons and taking shower once a day.
These bozos deleted my written profile 4 FN times! More like Sour Time, not Our Time. No. Wait. It must mean Our Time To stuck it to the rest of humanity for the shit hand life dealt them. Some goofs named Eric keeps actually apologizing for the same damn screwup 4 times. Anyone with a tiny flake of self respect would just fold up and quit but no OOOOO Eric just keeps on apologizing then you pour sand in the wound they bend over backwards and punishment me with a 1 week extension. Probably laden with more technical flaws than a betamax. Were there justice in this world these losers would be forced to watch porn 24 hours a day with their hands cuffed behind their backs!

Chet you are an asshole. Don’t express yourself worth a crap. Go back to school and learn something. Our time was trying to charge me their $60.00 thing when I only had $40.00 which card was declined. While Our time informed other sites my card info and all were declined. Each card decline costed me $1.00 and after all Our time shared my info with I lost total $40.00. My card people gave $40.00 back on my card the very next morning was notified another site pulled their subscription out of my account unauthorized. I called and they refunded on my new card and no more charges. Someone screwed up but not everyone. Can’t blame everyone because of one’s actions, right!

I have found the site to be a joke. Have never been scammed so many times in my life. What a waste of money. Nobody is who they truly seem to say they are and what’s wrong a simple no thank you rather than on response at all. At this age, a simple answer that you are not interested would be expected from adults.
A. sharma says
Ourtime has a lot of members but most will just view you and not put in the effort to date. However if you contact them they usually do make some arrangement for a date. I guess a lot of them are shy. I had a very disturbing experience on one date and it still haunts me. After the date he walked me to my car and tried to twist me around to kiss him. I said not on the first date. He then struck he on my back and backside and walked away. I reported him on our Time. I hope nobody meets Chester as this was his name. He didn’t get his way so became violent. It has put me off dating completely.
Ajt says
This is one of so many bad reviews that I doubt it will get much attention, however I have to say my peace. This is the worse excuse of a dating website ever. The pictures of the men are either fake, blurred, gross like needing a bath…or downright stupid. I fee like I need to wash my hands after scrolling through this site. I tried it for a whole year now ( I had it way too long ) and it is truly a rip off for an intelligent woman looking for honesty and decency. I find myself wondering and almost knowing that there must be a site that weeds out all of these nasty flies that are online at our time .com

I wish I would have found these reviews before I signed up. The perspective from me (male) is no different. I have been on the site for four days. In this short time, I have blocked and reported 26 fake or scammer profiles that I have received views/messages/flirts from. That does not seem to do much, because the bogus profiles keep coming. The women who were legit were not even close to what I was looking for. I don’t have a problem with that as much as the constant flooding of scammer and fake profiles flooding my inbox. Stay away from this site. Unfortunately, this is my 7th site, and most of the ones I have been on are the same…but Ourtime.com is by far the worse.

I totally agree and I’m a woman talking about almost 99% of the men on Our Time. It’s true when you see someone that may interest you and they are online, if you try to only look at their profile first Our Time says that you just sent them a “flirt” or a “wink”. Most of my so called matches are either extremely overweightor haven’t shaved in a while or are wearing a dingy yellow white t-shirt with holes in it, men without teeth, back-woods southern rednecks with their “wife beater” t-shirts on…it’s true..that’s what southerners call it, or profiles of other races that I said I was not interested in when I signed up, and “your matches” are recycled! Even if you said No. And here’s some advice guys…. if you’re going to post a picture, leave your sunglasses off! We can’t see you! When you post pictures, don’t post pictures from your last vacation where you are not even in one of the pictures! Don’t post a picture of your dog by himself and have that be your only picture! I could go on…not worth my time. And for heavens sake, if you take a girl out or talk with her on the phone or text several times, don’t just not call back….that’s a coward. Be a man and let her know politely that you don’t feel you two are a match. Goodness! Maybe I should run a dating service…… hmmm…Nope! BTW, I’m leaving this in God’s hands….no more dating online for me.
Princess says
You are spot on about some of the men —also, if you are a widower, leave the pics off of your wife . I told one guy that you are on a dating site to meet women and you are displaying pics of your late wife and you—that type of man has built an altar to his late wife and pity the woman that gets involved with him!

I will be out end of month as I have already gone in and took off automated pay..

It keeps on flipping when you’re trying to cancel the transaction and it will not allow you to cancel it. Im outraged!! I wouldn’t recommend anyone to try to use this site. Buyer beware! I changed all the settings to stop automatic billing to my credit card not once but twice and they still billed me. I fixed them, I canceled the card so no more billing me! I found 85% of the views are fake.. the flirts are nonsense. I was constantly contacted by foreign scam artists who are too stupid to realize that a highly educated person wont fall for their games.
The other 14% were social misfits, angry males, liars, married men or complete losers. The 1% of good men often got caught up in the game of thinking more is better.. always seeking the next best one. The needle in a haystack was just not worth the time wasted.
When I choose not to meet someone,I was accused of being too picky or thinking I was better than.. Why do males fee they have the right to choose one they feel is a good match, but females are accused of being picky or stuck up when we reject those who we feel are just not a good match?
I found most on line dating sites about the same. Chalked full of social misfits, narcissists, liars, cheaters and sad sacks. So few good men.
Ourtime sends fake flirts and slammed my account with photoless profiles. The males who did write me obviously never read my profile, they simply looked at the pictures. I am dating in real life only now, at least I can see the real person rather than a 10 year old photo and watch body language and hear tone of voice before deciding whether or not they are safe to meet.
Dont waste your money on this dating site or any other unless you have unlimited hours to waste weeding through the wackos.

I agree with all the previous comments on this page. I met 6 men,on this site out of the 6,3 were actually people 1 didn’t look like his profile pictures, they must have been taken when he was 20 years old. The other one, had physical problems so he couldn’t drive anymore and the 3rd one was a real hoot he was so he said working with the terrorists task force really and he was picky ,we had one date for lunch. Then I met one who claimed to work for the UN and he had a supposed car accident and he said that the UN personal took him to new York..in order for him to get back to CA, I needed to write a letter. Then pay a token for his release. Which I didn’t. I feel that someone isn’t monitoring the people on the website. There’s a group of people who are using it to get financial aid. They are fraudulently stealing people’s identity claiming to be that person. And every one is a ENGINEER AND OUT OF TOWN OR OUT OF THE COUNTRY. So you never get to meet them face to face. I have been on this site for 3 months, I don’t want to renew I want to cancel it. Right now I’m talking to 2 different people both are ENGINEERS One supposed to live in Fort Worth going to London and the other lives in Los Angeles but he’s in Boston. This is what you get when you start pressuring about a face to face meeting. I’m DONE! !!!

BEWARE! STAY AWAY! This is the BOTTOM of the online dating world!!! To my fellow males, TOTAL waste of time and money. As a guy, nothing but interest from pictureless, informationless profiles from people out of state, out of the country, who flirt you, like you, favorite you, email you.
What a joke!
All the emails, flirts, likes, messages build up in your mailbox till you say “I gotta join!”
Because while it is ‘free to join’ you have to pay to see all the emails flirts likes favorites that have been piling up in your mailbox.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Ourtime was sending them or paying people to send them.
You go to write someone back who has JUST contacted you, that finally lives within a 2 hour drive of you, and their profile is ‘unavailable’.
What a joke.
Or, you reply to a contact request and they tell you OH, just had a family ’emergency’ and will not be dating for awhile. BUT THEY JUST CONTACTED YOU! Literally minutes ago.
What a joke.
And I know every site has some, but SO many obvious fake profiles and scammers on here. I feel sorry for the OurTime women if it is like this for them too.
I don’t normally write reviews, but i felt so strongly about this I had to.
They are playing with people’s feelings and emotions and preying on their hopes and dreams.
STAY AWAY!!! STAY AWAY!!! STAY AWAY!!!

Totally agree. The Our Time dating website is a total scam. Within one day of subscribing, they sent numerous emails out to other members saying that i liked their photo, flirts, and adding members as favorites, without my knowledge or approval. Then when I sent an email to them objecting to their behavior, they denied it, saying that things I had done on the website had elicted these emails, which is totally false since I never flirted with anyone, added anyone to my favorites list, or participated in their “I’m Interested” slide show. If anyone is interested in participating in a class action website against “Our Time,” please let me know.
tallbalt3218 says
Class action suits are useless. According to what was, at one time, their Wikipedia entry (yeah, not exactly 100% reliable) they’re based in Costa Rica and outside the reach of any North American jurisdiction.
Complain to your ISP that it’s a fraud and maybe if they get enough complaints they could consider blocking the site.
Jody says
For starters, I had one of the guys tell me that they pay people on the site to send emails to keep you hooked. The other problem, and I realized it is not the websites problem, but out of the dozen men I talked to, most were married. If anything we need to have a site to report these losers to so their wives can find them. Probably the men have had the same experience. There has to be a better way…..

After a week and a half I finally wrote off my $85. Never again!!!

Outrageous. Although I am a straight woman, over 50 [which is what they claim the site is about], they sent me women seeking men! And they sent me profiles of young guys – obvious hustlers. Worse -they mistakenly changed my profile name to something very sleazy. I spent too much time complaining to them and asking for a refund, but like others, they said they have a “no refund policy.” Yes, they should be sued.

Worst dating site ever. The site sends auto flirts and messages from profiles of people who are not members. When you respond to the flirts or messages you never hear back from the person. I think there are a bunch of fake profiles and that most of the messages and flirts are fake to get you hooked. Class action lawsuit sounds like a good idea because there is no way to get a refund and you think your purchasing one thing but you get something totally different ,annoying and frustrating. Negative 100 stars

I met about a dozen people through Ourtime.com. NOT ONE was honest in his profile. There was dishonesty in height, weight, age, education, marital status, health, and even hair and teeth. I was very disappointed and feel this was a waste of time and money. Also, I was told by others that they had an option to join on a monthly basis. That option was never available to me. I had to commit for 6 months.
Also, even though I checked the box regarding not sharing my contact information, I am now bombarded with e-mails from Christian Mingle, Match and others.
Beware!

We should all create our own dating site. Everyone of you that negatively reviewed the site in question sound like the good guys. I balked from joining it, as it had a cheezy feel to it. I did not know it was this bad however. Good luck to all of you.

This is the worst website of this nature I have ever seen. I, too, wanted to get a refund, but NO! They send you anyone who is breathing, just to give you a “match” for the day! This could be someone who lives across the country (no matter what you specified); it could also be a woman (again, I specified I was looking for a MAN), and many of my profile features were totally ignored. The bozos who are on the site don’t make any attempt to write an intelligent profile, or put up a picture (which would be beyond their capabilities). I have a long wait until my “contract” is up, but I can only say that people should RUN not walk away from this website.

I agree with the lady who lost $85. I’ve been VERY fed up and disgusted at the clientele that has been on the site. I recently was going to opt out as soon as my subscription was done in Oct. I was clearing the Promote me screen when at the same time as hitting the X to get out of that the reactivate my acct popped up and was hit while hitting the X to get out of a different screen. My bank acct was hit for $51.73 and I never confirmed that transaction. I’m in the process of trying to get my money back, but….This site is a scam. They send several computer generated “views” to keep you interested.

I was signed up for both of these sites which I believe is one and the same. I had married guys, foreigners with the same line I believe they must have some chain letter they circulate. They all have a dead wife, some family member die due to a violent crime , one child, born out of the USA. have good jobs. Are suspicious of you. It goes on and on. The very worst thing that happened was someone hijacked me and I became a 6 foot 5 man . I had Amex cancel the renewal they hooked me once and surely they were not going to get me again.
I think the only way to meet someone is to let it happen
Janice says
O Boy, I see by reading the notices below that I am far from alone.

The merchant phone # provided to my credit company 888 892 2065 is dead. The credit company rep. was very angry when she tried and rec’d the ‘not in service’ recording.
So, don’t waste your time trying to get refunds and blocking further charges…. criminals don’t have a conscience. Just change your world without them —
I have learned a valuable lesson and they won’t be getting a cent from me again. Criminals.

OurTime SUCKS. I’ve been on 6-7 over the years and it is the WORST. 99 percent of the messages I receive are CANNED, not originals written by the guy. I think much of why that is, is when you unconsciously run your cursor over someone’s photo, it automatically sends them a message that you “like” their photo or that you “want to chat” with them. And there is no way to block messages from people out of the area, so you get these canned messages from people all over the country. This site is a waste of money, but worse, a BIG waste of time.

You are absolutely correct. You have to be quite careful in just moving the cursor. OURTIME will quickly send out a flirt or say you designated someone as “your favorite”. I do not understand the business & ethics failures involved. This concept should be cleaned up & run honestly. Isn’t that possible? All of the sites seem to have negative or “beware” reviews.
I do not have all of the answers but just do not understand why a company does not aim to please & seems content with lousy reviews just as long as new $ comes in.

But I was immediately aware that when I viewed a profile the system sent out a generic message to the person viewed. Same when someone views my profile, I get a message. It’s difficult to know what is real on this site.

This is the worst dating site EVER! It’s fake, fake, fake and one big con job! I joined it for only 3 days, saw that they were absolutely terrible and cancelled my account – took the whole thing down and clicked on ALL OF THE BUTTONS necessary to ensure that they would no longer charge my credit card. But guess what! They didn’t close my account the way that I had shut it down – it was still up! And the following month, without my permission, they charged my card again!
I called up their billing department, and a nasty young man tried to convince me that I had “clicked on one of their emails and that had given them the right to them re-charge my credit card”. Oh, boy! Did I have him then! I told him that I had supervised a call center before and that what his company had done was illegal. I hadn’t given his company any permission whatsoever to recharge my credit card and that looking at my profile is free of charge to see if it had been taken down! It hadn’t been! So I saw that it was still up and not completely erased from their system like I had asked. I told him that there was no page that I had clicked on to renew my subscription whatsoever, and that they had just decided to steal from my account without my permission! I also told him that I had learned that this is something that their company has a reputation for doing and that if he didn’t return my money immediately, I was going to press fraud charges against his company! He got scared and gave me a confirmation # to return my money back to my account within 72 hours. He also said that my profile has now been completely removed from their site, and it had better be true because if I get another email from them I’m going to call them and knock some heads together! This site and the people who are “supposedly” members one it, are just a scam.
Don’t believe it. Don’t waste your money on this site. They will continue to charge your accounts, draining you dry, but it’s all one big fake. The site is so rinky dink and poorly put together that it’s ridiculous. Don’t fall for this con or for their commercials. It’s a giant scam! I’ve heard from so many people that once you get in, it’s so hard to disentangle yourselves for their company. They also have partner single sites that will start to bombard you to join them, so watch out for them as well as I found out they are all related to each other.
When I called the phone number for one of them, they answered with the same universal name that OurTime’s customer service department answers with – so they have MANY singles sites! I believe they’re all a bunch of scams designed to suck you in. Chemistry.com is one of them. It pays to find out which companies are related before you ever join up as they all answer with that same universal company name – can’t think of it right away.
Good luck to all of you who try to leave this site and/or trying to get your money back.

These guys are based in Costa Rica. If you flip down through this thread, there are numerous posts similar to yours, generally saying that refunds are impossible to obtain. Don’t expect any results given that they’re outside of any North American legal jurisdiction.

I agree with many of the comments above. Almost all of the replies I received were very obvious scams. The addresses were all marked ARIPO (whatever, wherever that is) and numbers spelled out (onesevensix etc.). This should be very easy for them to create criteria to filter these very obviously fake profiles out.
Julie Smith says
This website is corrupt, do NOT give them your credit card number EVER!!! I gave them mine and they used it to charge me for an additional YEAR after I cancelled, I am now out over $160 for something I could not get out of….can’t reach then by phone or e-mail.
Ida says
I got wind of the problem two days in….all of what you people say is true. When you tick the little
block saying they can use your name/etc on their affiliate sites, after you leave the site they keep
using your profile and picture to use on some new sucker. So….I deleted my pics, and went
thoroughly through my profile and deleted all, physically, then canceled my subscription, and they
did that immediately. So we shall see on the 23rd of Sept if they try to get more moola.
Oh yes, I sent some feedback to them..TOLD THEM THEY WERE CROOKS, FRAUDSTERS.

This site is nothing more than an internet scam. After signing up they tell you you can’t do anything unless you upgrade. When you do they give you a clock to upgrade even more. If that’s to enough they ask you continually to buy tokens to promote your self more. I guess put your name at the top of the list. Once I figured out how to work the website one of the worst interfaces I have ever seen. Now to the meat of the site. Over half the ladies that responded were sending personal emails or phone numbers and as the site says these people are scammers looking to pray upon you for money. Many of the responses I got were from people who never filled out their profile! Many more never read my profile! I could tell because we had nothing in common at all! Some were contacting me from the other side of the country! Some ladies who contacted me to “supposedly” chat never responded to chats requests or by messages! When I contacted their “Customer Service I received a very long email (canned) that looks like someone actually wrote it but was prewritten telling me I can’t cancel. STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO THROW MONEY AWAY!!!!!! SCAM!!!!!

i published my pictures and nice lines to be read… just to discover that i could neither read nor answer any message.
Fortunately i found this page before a subscription. My intuition warned me insistently. And you, too. Thank you everybody.
An operating company who is REALLY interested in your personal happiness never would handle a procedure in this way.
They did not offer any test for 1 week…. nothing. I remember that they promoted with a sentence … you only get what you put in… something like that…. but they have lost their hearts all together.
The site is uncomfortable – the pictures shown to you are very small thus you have to click on them immediately shown to the owner of the profile in concern. The site itself is very ugly – made up like advertisements for articles in a supermarket.
It is not worth it – and i feel really released having not subscribed there. I search for another one. Hope you´ll do the same.
i wish you all the best of luck from the bottom of my heart
Rhonda Lanham says
It says when you read the agreements and about the site that you can not see your flirts etc unless you upgrade. If you are scanning and see someone that is really someone you would like to connect with, then upgrade for a month,

I joined the site in November of 2013
In May of 2014 I wished Larry a happy birthday and we started a conversation. We finally met the second week in June and instantly liked each other. Our relationship progressed and on August of 2014 we got married. One year later, we are very much in love and we thank Our Time for getting us together

Congratulations to both of you. Your man is fortunate as the imbalance in numbers of men to women on this site is advantageous to the ladies as it is on all dating sites.. A man needs to catch lightning in a bottle so to speak to have a chance, obviously some do, most do not.

This site is the WORST ever! They automatically rebill you NO MATTER what you do. They NEVER ANSWER their phone or email. I am sending a letter and contacting the Attorney General Fraud Division about this. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SITE NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO!!!!!! If you have already signed up for it, be sure you TURN OFF THE AUTOMATIC ACCOUNT RE-Bill. You will be billed anyway, but at least you can print out the page showing the Attorney General that you have that option turned off. DO NOT CONTACT THEM!

That is my problem I requested no automatic renewal on May 31, 2015 only to find out that their records as per my account summary show I requested renewal on July 31, 2015, which is not true. I wanted off this site and was billed for the next 6 months. I don’t know how to get out of this mess. Any help out there on how to be done with this OurTime site???? Help !!! My account site shows that I declined renewal on May 31 then shows I changed it on July 31 …. I did not total fraud.

Total waste of money. Be careful, way to many “entrepreneurs” actually unemployed looking for a woman to take care of them. Matches sent are not selected from the criteria you choose. Many responses without pictures, many immediately asking for your email address. Very scary site! Customer service is absolutely non existent other than canned automated responses that have nothing to do with your questions. Save your money, you will have better look meeting someone in a grocery store or book store,
Don Fenley says
Extreme caution on this site. If you click the option that you do not want automatic payments from your credit card you’re put on a list for popup offers to renew. If you use a pop up blocker or quickly delete the popup your service is renewed. The company has a “no refund” policy, but after several discussions and offering to file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General’s consumer fraud division the months in question refund was promised. I say promised because the credit has not shown up on my credit card statement yet. Site is very heavy on upselling and has confusing options. Some your are billed for unless you opt out instead of opting in.

Great site! I met a wonderful man on this site 2 yes ago and we got married last month. The site had people in my area and the price was about the same as the other sites but with people my age and men that were looking for a woman the same age. It was a great experience for us.

Beware of registering for Our Time. I was just informed that once you sign up UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will they give any sort of refund. I discovered quite by accident that a good 20% of the listings on the Our Time site are fraudulent. By putting in one keyword, I got 40 profiles that were exactly the same with different pictures and profile names. This makes the Our Time membership numbers seem much larger than they really are.It is also possible that these people are all scammers and that Our Time is not doing an adequate job of protecting members from scammers. After two weeks of using their service and discovering this, I asked for a pro-rated refund (I was willing to pay for the 2 weeks I had already used) but was told that no refunds are ever given under any circumstances. So BUYER BEWARE>

So far, I have talked with 8 different people and had conversations or chatted. The majority were scams. They get a picture from somewhere and then, all they will do is text or chat with you. They will never offer to meet you or call you. I have had different profiles give me the same phone number to text. REALLY??? I am VERY disappointed in this website, and have paid hard earned money for something that is not even legitimate.

I have been on for less then a month. Almost every contact I have received requested my email and said that today was their last day on. Believe me — not so easy to cancel. The scamming is horrible. I subscribed to this site a week a go. I got a message from someone who was interested. He saw my profile, he seemed nice, I responded to some messages talking about travel, nothing heavy. Then he disappear, so I sent him a message saying that I had read many complaints about this site, so if he was not the person he was, that at least responded, just say goodbye, not interested. I got back the nastiest most offensive mail I had ever. He knew I was a liberal and a scientist. First he said that he loved my photo. Now he is attacking me for being a liberal and that he is not attracted to me physically. I thought he was a nice person, he had this photo of him as a soldier. Be careful, I think that we should get together and file a joined complaint. We could try to communicate with people, but we do not deserve to be abused.

I always look for reviews of sites where I’m considering spending money, whether it’s a dating site or anything else. At the same time people mostly go to the trouble of finding review sites and leaving a comment when they’re really pissed off. People who are satisfied or not sufficiently enraged usually don’t bother, so review sites are almost always heavily negatively biased, far more so, I suspect, than polling the current membership (if that were possible) would reveal. OurTime does have warts. As with so many other sites your account is automatically set up to automatically renew “for your convenience,” which is of course bullshit because it’s for THEIR convenience. For those who don’t know how to turn it off (I always do immediately), click on Settings, then My Account, then scroll down to Account Status and click on View Account Status >>. You’ll then see two boxes, one labelled Account Status and the other Transaction History. Toward the bottom of Account Status you’ll see More Account Status Changes. Click on that. In the boxed labelled More Account Status Changes you’ll see four clickable links, one of which is Remove Automatic renewal >>. Click on that and you’ll get a box with two entry fields, one which says Please tell us why you’d like to downgrade your membership? with the other saying, Is there anything we can do to change your mind? You can vent in one or both boxes if you want to but you don’t have to and I doubt that it has any positive effect. You can just click on NEXT > and you’ll get an offer to renew at about half the amount you paid for the current period. To the left of that box, which you DON’T want to click on unless you’re sure you DO want to renew, there’s the statement, No thanks, please stop my auto renewal. Not until you click on that is autmatic renewal FINALLY turned off. (But check to make sure.) [sarcasm]See how simple that was![/sarcasm]
Now for the actual experience of using OurTime. For those who are puzzled at having flirted when you didn’t, or contacting those who “flirted” with you who deny that they did, if you “Save” a profile OurTime sends a canned flirt message. I think “Nice profile, I’d like to hear from you” is one of them. The site randomly selects from three or four such messages. There may be other activities that automatically send one of these messages. I know I was embarrassed to discover that I had “flirted” with women when I had no intention of doing so. You will sometimes see responses from scam artists, some woman (or man if you’re a woman) who doesn’t care how much you make, for whom age makes no difference, who’s thirtyish and hot, who can’t spell or write coherently, who spells out an email address for you to contact her at. No amount of wishful thinking will make this real. All sites have these, some a lot more than OurTime, some (OKCupid, for instance) a lot fewer. Just ignore them.
Now I’m fortunate enough to look a lot younger than my age, I’m not bad looking, and I can write coherently, so I get a lot of responses, albeit I get tired of 75 year old overweight dowagers (i’m in my 60s) who somehow imagine I might be interested. It would be like dating my own grandmother.
Let’s face it. Most of us aren’t bargains, and the few who are, or who appear to be, are going to be inundated with responses, while most average Joes and Janes will get few if any and possibly more scam artists than real people. If you go through the list of profiles in which you click on yes, no, or maybe, be advised that if you click on yes (I think) you’ll thereby “send” one of those canned flirt messages. Yes, it’s annoying. I’d rather decide myself if I want to flirt and resent any site (OurTime isn’t the only one) that sends messages on my behalf, making it look like I contacted that person when I didn’t. Caveat Emptor.
Personally, I’ve had better luck meeting people (although not yet a girl friend or longtime partner; but that probably has more to do with my pickiness and social skills) on OurTime than on OkCupid, Match.com, or (ugh) Plenty of Fish, although OkCupid is a much nicer site. OurTime is overpriced, and aggravating in some ways, but if you’re between 50 and 70 and are willing to be gouged a bit on pricing I suspect you’ll do better here than elsewhere. Of course, if you’re no bargain in terms of looks, weight, intelligence (you can tell reading the profile), etc. you won’t get one. Hope this helps.

I have subscribed to ourtime.com off and on for about a year. I would opt for one month, immediately opt out of the auto-renewal, and browse until it ran out.
Here’s what happens every time I let my subscription lapse:
I suddenly get all of these messages! I get ‘favorited’ by at least one woman a day. Sometimes more that one. So, I subscribe again, only to see they are either women with no picture, no profile info or someone that lives over 500 miles away! AGAIN, this ONLY happens when I’m not subscribed.
This is beyond coincidence. This is evidence that THE COMPANY ITSELF is involved in defrauding it’s own customers. I’m filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and I suggest others do the same.
Paul says
This happened to me as well. Subscription ended and within two days I had 6 Favorites and 19 Messages!

BLOCKING OURTIME
Virtually every comment on this thread (with the except of a few obvious shills) feel that this website is a fraud/scam and some have threatened to, or have, complained to local authorities. Since these bozos are apparently based in Costa Rica, nothing will get done.
Perhaps a better strategy is to complain to your local ISP provider that this is a fraud and suggest that they block access to this site for their subscribers.
Just a thought.

These guys never answer if you ask THEM for their email…I delete them immediately. Ladies beware of these contacts. And what’s up with all the profiles with NO pictures….this should not be allowed.
My profile expires in 2 months and I will not renew….that is if I can get out of it.

This website takes advantage of those of us who are hopeful that seeking a relationship within our age group will filter out some of the issues encountered on sites like Match. However, this site randomly sends “matches” where there is no hope of compatibility. After no success, I set my parameters to receive matches from people who are over 105 years old. My goal was to stop receiving “matches” after I had let my membership lapse. No such luck. I still get the same old recycled “matches.” I got notifications from “matches” that said, “I’d like to hear from you.” When I replied, the “matches” said they had not sent those notes. This site seems to be a money making scam that preys on mature adults. Stay away and keep your money.
tallbalt3218 says
Once I figured out that this was a total scam and shill after three days (although it creepily did “match” me with a woman who I dated a few years ago, I decided that it was a sunk cost and after my anger faded I decided that it was a sunk cost and to see how absurd it could get.
Despite posting that I live in the GTA, Canada, I got two matches, one in British Columbia and one in Newfoundland. The best was the woman who had no picture, no details and the only thing on her page was, “I’m new to this and my dog is chewing on my foot so I have to come back to this later”.
Still a total waste of time and money, especially when their propriety “chat” system doesn’t seem to work (at least it didn’t for me) and posts a warming on its page that anyone that asks for private e-mails is likely a scammer.
I think PeeWee Herman is secretly behind programming this farce.

The fact that there’s one negative review to this comment, along with singular (or maybe two) negative reviews seems to provide further evidence that this is a shill site. Who would give a negative review to a factual observation that the key to disabling auto-renew is almost impossible to find?
John says
OurTime is a horrible site. I signed up with basic information for the free membership. Within a few minutes notifications appeared indicating I had several e-mails and profile views. Of course you have to pay to be able to read and send e-mail. Thankfully, I only signed up for one month. The e-mails were scammers from overseas. Most of the messages and “Likes” I have gotten are scammers. Rather than allowing members to opt in for automatic renewal, OurTime requires members to go through a many-step process to opt out of automatic renewal charges. I opted out the day I signed up, knowing I didn’t want to renew. Now I keep getting pesky messages reminding me I’m opted out and that I should opt back in…good grief! The site has NO satisfaction guarantee or proportional refund. The site appears to benefit from scammers so newcomers will surely get mail and want to pay to read their mail. I have written two questions in the customer service box and have received a response to neither. I would give negative stars if I could. Try a different dating site.

I signed up for 6 months and turned auto renewal off. After 5 months, they renewed me for another 6 months’ but I called customer service and threatened to call my bank to dispute so they finally agreed to refund what they had charged me for the renewal. I still lost a month I paid for though.
Karen says
Beware of Ourtime.com and it’s auto renewal. I was charged $110 for a six month membership as I was unaware of the auto renewal, There is not way to contact Ourtime for a refund other than sending them a letter.
The service is not worth the price. The quality of the people on their website is not their fault, but the lack of customer service from Ourtime is unacceptable and infuriating. There is a “Contact Us” option on the website, but no matter what you put for the reason you are contacting them it will not send your request.
John says
I usually don’t leave comments but with all the negative comments I decided to.
I’ve had a good experience on this site. I am 61. I found the women I met represented themselves accurately on the site. Some may have had a better opinion of themselves then I had but so what? Some rejected me, some I rejected. The site kept my dance card full. There are some girls who are clearly on to rip off older guys. I don’t respond to emails from Nigerian princes and I don’t respond to 30 year old girls who look like models. That aside, I thought the real women on the site were honest and high quality. Some extremely attractive, some attractive, some not attractive. Some where kind in our interactions, some rude, some simply disappeared. That’s life in the dating world!
I’ve tried several different sites. Some are horrible, most are good if you keep your expectations reasonable. This is a good one.

Here are the RULE see that our time RULES.
1. Must be 50 plus
2. Must pass background check
3. If you mange to get pass the background check and found to be a scammer. You will be prosecuted.
4. Payment will be pay as needed .Be it 1 month or 100 years. Pay for what you need.
5. Your profile MUST include a RESENT PHOTO! Not the one that shows how you looked in 1981!
If there is anyone who feels the same leave a comment and I will respond as well as return with a web site.
And our time I have registered my rules!

Most of my contacts were through chats. I found repeatedly that someone would claim to live in my area but could not even respond to basic questions about places they liked or restaurants they enjoyed. One guy claimed to live in Arlington, TX but couldn’t discuss the new stadium and just remarked that he didn’t care for sports. I asked what new eateries had sprung up around Arlington and he replied that they have an Applebee’s???? Most have strange language patterns, are widowed, and use LOL way too much. They were always good looking and some even had more than one picture. Answers were vague. One sent me his web page for his mining and precious metals company. The grammar was terrible and it was 3 pages of generic info including two totally different dates as to when the company went public. Needless to say, there is no such company. Another guy was supposedly from the town I grew up in – very small place. I remarked that I didn’t recognize the store he was in front of in his picture and he blocked me. I reported 3 scary people but they did nothing. I emailed one legit man who seemed nice but we didn’t gel. I would guess I was contacted by 15 men who appeared to be scammers. 20 men may not have been scammers but they lived thousands of miles away and totally ignored my request for people within 50 miles. I met my late husband on Match years ago so I know how to Internet date. I have never seen so many scammers before. Guess because I am a fairly good looking blonde and showed myself to be a business owner, they thought I was an easy mark. Even simple screening and basic policing based on complaints should be expected for the fees they charge. The search options are dismal and I think I too was a victim of being shown as one who flirted with men and looked at profiles she I didn’t do either.

I have been on OURTIME for 2 months now & also once before. The site itself is easy enough for anyone to use. I am male and would say that there seem to be decent women on this site and the potential to meet someone meaningful appeared quite feasible. However, my experience has not been promising nor productive. About 20% of the ladies that I send thoughtful, carefully written messages to, actually respond. Of the 80% who do not, some may not be actually using the site any more, or are bombarded with messages, or just possibly think they are too wonderful to bother answering unless they see perceive you as perfect. They say, you need photos & a carefully written profile. I do have those but it hardly matters. Women seem obsessed with the height of a man. I am in top condition physically but being of average height at 5’9″ I am apparently not tall enough for women who are 5’4″ or heaven help me, 5’5″. My ex-wife was 5’7″ and we lasted for 27 years.
The worst case scenario are these: a lady initiates a canned message or flirt to me. I cordially send them a complete message, then I do not hear from them. What is that about? Then on more than one occasion, a lady thanks me for sending her a lovely message. She then asks me numerous questions. I respond intelligently & truthfully and then do not hear from her again. Sorry, I do not understand such arrogant behavior. There must be a better way!

Recently joined the Not Free Ourtime dating site. Didn’t mind the one month fee even though it says free! Hoping since you pay it’s probably a decent group on there. Did not filter criteria when they ask you your preferences- height, location, age group- seems like they just sent whatever is on there. I’m 50 and do not want dates 7-9 yrs younger than me. I’m trying to find people around me and too many out of state replies. There are several who don’t post pics but will look at your pics numerous times w/o sending a message- they should just buy a magazine subscription! Then- after only 48 hrs. of being a member I reviewed my profile and saw it hacked! Someone had rewritten everything I had posted! Saying rude comments and completely fabricating anything I am about! No customer service, no phone number with a live person. I deleted profile after paying for 48 hrs.! DO NOT USE THIS SITE
Laura says
I can totally relate. Unfortunately, in this world it seems negative outweighs the positive. Keep the faith, and keep trying. There are still decent people out there.

I can really relate to Phil. I have been a paying member since April 1, 2015. I have been hit by at least 3 scam artists. I am a widow, and believe that honest is the best policy while on these sites, but I am NOT ignorant! Nothing worse than people not communicating back with you when you try to communicate with them. I feel that OurTime should take the time to search and protect people. It is simple! Could eliminate the hassel!

I have that on almost all the sites fake pic fake person or they want u to go to yahoo it’s truly sad on how we have to try to meet people.
Hansen says
Supposedly eHarmony DOES check people for honesty about status (divorced, widowed, separated), but I also received questionable matches there. Three times during my 4 months, I received messages from accounts which were hacked — so it happens a lot. Dishonesty is easy on internet dating sites since you’re taking the person at face value…. that is often the problem across all sites.
tallbalt3218 says
I tried e-harmony once based on their pitch about extensive compatibility testing. That seems to be true, but the whole suite of questions totals something in excess of 1,000. Very few people have the patience to complete the whole set of questions so the “matches” appear to cluster around the people who answer roughly the same amount of questions. I took the time (it was painful) to answer them all and the closest “match” that I got was around 53% compatible.

Hi …I am a woman . I have tried the site twice in a year and found the same thing as Phil… so it goes both ways. Men have done the same to me. Most men on there seem to be looking for a Barbie. And seem to still be looking because in the 8 month between me trying I get the same faces. It’s sad that they are missing out on a fun, loving relationship with someone because of a picture or size. I had the love of my life for 49 years and now he’s gone. I was just looking for someone to spend time with my own age. To enjoy the rest of my life.
Sandy says
Phil,
Thank you for your review. I was ready to join this site (given the positive ads), however I guess I am a skeptic and thought it best to see what others thought.
Your review helped via the treatment you have had from others. I am sorry for your experience and yet grateful for your review.

Hmmm..you sound a wee bit arrogant. It’s not about responding in a manner that you feel is appropriate. Maybe it’s a little less formal than you think it shold be. You’re very articulate but I think you’re a bit of a negative Norman..lol. Chill out Phil..relax and just have fun with it. Janet PS..5-9 isn’t short..my opinion
Dave says
Agreed with many of your comments. I recently “ended” my relationship with Zoosk for similar experiences. Even the most professional, diligent and customer-centric dating sites cannot filter out or block even a fraction of the scammers out there. Not unlike essentially every business out there, volume is the key for dating site survival. Although some sites do a better job than others, I don’t think the risk of hackers or site intruders outweighs the site’s desire to bring on the masses and make the money.
Whatever type of relationship you are looking for, the only chance you stand for meeting someone with similar interests is to join a site and pay for a subscription. That’s not to say that you can’t get steamrolled on a pay site, but think about it; those who don’t pay to join the site have nothing vested and nothing to lose. Those subscribers who pay for an upgrade are more likely to have a desire to meet someone.

I had a problem with the site with one of my photos and customer service was very helpful. I have only been on for a couple of weeks and am definitely getting some scammers but I found that on other sites also.
There have been a couple of people that I have struck up conversations with and will see where that goes.
But, I do not like the layout and the way they have some of the features laid out.
Overall, I like a couple of the other sites better.
tallbalt3218 says
Congratulations on reaching customer service. Can you post how you did it since no one else on this thread seems to be able to do so and there doesn’t appear to be any customer service contact info on the site?

Thank you to all who have shared their experiences of Our Time dating site. I thought this might be interesting, but I will not sign up because of the negative comments from the paying members. Match and eHarmony ignore the user’s boundaries. They have sent many matches that are hours away or in other countries, not in the same city as I requested. Long distance (more than 30 miles) relationships are difficult at best.
I have not used the Features or Customer Service, therefore, no stars in those areas.
Perhaps referrals by friends is the way to go. Disappointing.

Did you know that OurTime and SeniorPeopleMeet are Match.com sites?

I am still a member of Our Time. Anybody know how to get out and get your money back?
I have had them tell me these same few guys are viewing me nearly every day. I finally got the nerve to ask 3 of them “Why do you view me nearly everyday and not say anything.” Two of them answered telling me they were not viewing me at all”. The third one did not answer. The two that did said this site is good at doing that. Wish I had looked into reviews before paying for 3 months. At 80, I learn something new every day. Then there if the fact though I enter the age group that I am interested or at least of an age to be interested in me and they post all kinds in their early 60’s and anywhere in the world.

Ripped off is how I feel to say the least.
I signed up for 1 month and my printed receipt said US 29.99 plus Service Fee of US 3.99.
They billed my credit card 37.09 and 4.93.
The excuse was that it was converted to US funds. I complained by contacting them and I am waiting for a refund.
The matches just like other sites are stupid. I am in Calgary and I was receiving matches that were anywhere 2 to 9 hours traveling time. Really stupid.
My advise is to stop throwing away your money and join a gym at least you will get out of the house and get fit.

Michelle B says
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! WORST SITE EVER!!!!!! I paid for a subscription on 2/8/2015 and the site cancelled my subscription on 2/9/2015 as a mistake after charging my credit card of course. Then after getting that rectified I have found that the people on this site are older than George Burns. I am 44 and the people contacting me were in their 70’s and the majority of them are out of state. Many of them without a picture. Also The website needs a total makeover its outdated and getting your inbox messages is more work than its worth. This site is awful do not waste your time. Your $30 is better spent taking yourself to the movies.

Oh dear Lord.. I wish I had found this site before I signed up yesterday on Our Time. Thanks for the warnings, everybody. I paid for a month through PayPal, but now it says it’s on automatic renewal, and I don’t know how to stop that. It sounds like it must be the seventh circle of hell.
V says
Go to your account find renewal and turn it off.
Lisa Campbell says
I paid with paypal also. Go to your paypay account and open the link named Peoplemedia Inc. and stop automatic payments. I just joined OurTime yesterday, I wish I had seen these reviews prior to joining. We will see if stopping payment through paypal makes a difference.
Soorkidum says
Two immediate tip offs. ANY site which “automatically” renews fees is a scam. Then a spate of “Flirts” and “Messages” which can’t be opened unless you have a paid subscription. On top of this is the constant avalanche of ads for OTHER dating sites. If Our Time is so good, why would they be pushing other dating sites?
Unless I have a few messages and can estimate the type of people using the site, I certainly won’t pay for a subscription. I’m out of that site … FAST.

OURTIME.COM MEMEMBER NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!
If you scroll down to the March 15/15 postings, there is a cry for help from poor Melinda Mahan. She is trying to pay for a renewal or something and the poor soul can’t seem to find out how to pay.
Can someone help her? I’m sure that it’s pure coincidence that if you click on the blue, underlined link containing her name, it takes you directly to the Ourtime website.
How stupid are these scumbags? Are they just a bunch of drunken frat boy programming students screwing around?
Krista Wilson says
I am hereby cancelling my membership with this site. If I am charged for another month, I will do my utmost to ensure a negative reaction to your site, in ANY way possible! DO NOT CHARGE ME AGAIN!!!
Krista Wilson says
This site is a complete waste of time and money! The “free” sites offer many more people, and of higher quality! I was HIGHLY disappointed with this site!
Nedd says
Either you get billed six months for taking out one month or they reject your debit/credit card, likely because in the latter scenario you have just enough for a month or two available funds and that is not good enough for these birds. They want six months worth of money out of your account and it’s either that or nothing for them.
I have previously posted various reviews which are near identical to almost every other poster here so I won’t repeat those except to say that they took my last check and ran (only did so in order to hopefully see if the so-called flirts & messages in my box were legit). Last I checked, sending money for something and getting nothing is theft. And in one of the final profiles, I got sent a man’s. That was the last straw. I have since written the Illinois & Texas attorney generals as well as the U.S. A/G, even though I have little to no hope in anything they do in Washington.
For those who may be interested in furthering a class action suit against OT and/or interested in a new start up service, feel free to contact me at admin at Come Two Gether.com. It’s past time someone goes after these birds and with a vengeance.

AS IF the commercials for this site aren’t stupid/bad enough! It’s agism at it’s best, as if all men over 50 ride motor cycles and all women over 50 have long flowing hair and are eager to jump on the back of a motor cycle or prove how “fearless” they are by holding a large spider or by running and having a perfectly fit body! SO stupid and annoying! The match.com ads simply portray someone in their 20’s or 30’s being interviewed, but NO us people over 50 have to prove that we are active and trying to stay and look as young as possible (and apparently men are only attracted to women with long hair if they are over 50 if we go by ourtime’s commercials!) Well, people come in all different shapes and sizes and with different interests!
Anyway, now that I got that out of the way, it’s the worst site I have ever used. You have no way to set any search criteria (probably because there are so few men on there) by height, smoking/non smoking, salary or anything for that matter. Unfortunately, I am looking for someone who does have an income and doesn’t smoke so this site doesn’t work for me. Even with all the fakes on Match.com, it is a much better site (in spite of all the middle aged men looking for someone significantly younger). Don’t waste your money and time here!
Trevor Rovet says
OUR TIME is the worst dating site I have ever tried to use. Their interface is a mess. Tried seven times using three different credit cards and they were declined. That’s really bad news. As a result, I found there is no support, no online chat with customer service, and they reject any attempt for you to send an email. If you tried to use your credit card, call your card company and make sure the charge is voided.
Ronnie says
This site is a complete waste of money. I am canceling immediately. I am upset that I could be so gullible as to think that I could have any success on this piece of junk.

Terry says
I wish I had thought to look up reviews before I joined, something I routinely do before I “buy into” anything, but I assumed (and we all know that means, an ass out of you and me) because it was part of Match.com, which has had longevity and been helpful to others I know, that it was okay.
I have to agree with all of the above and, to make matters worse, they don’t respond to any contact! I was routinely bombarded with potential “mates” who did not meet the few requirements I had like distance, marital status, interests, etc.. I spent more time blocking men than responding to them and even the blocked parties were able to contact me again. I literally spent hours reviewing and deleting the same profiles or ones that were totally out of line with the the characteristics I indicated. Since this is all computerized, how hard can it be? I also had inappropriate contact which I reported and it was supposedly taken care of, yet within two weeks the same man/profile/photo etc. was sent as a possible match! I reiterate, how hard can it be to remove and prevent someone from this? Lawsuit anyone? If nothing else, I will be submitting a complaint to the state’s Attorney General’s Office and I advise you all to do the same.
Steve says
OurTime is the worst of the worst. There are so many negatives that it would take a book to write it all down. One thing I want to make clear is that I have read plenty of negative crap about illiterate sex crazed men. Well I have a lot of education and taught in college. I just wanted a quality woman to spend some time with. Can’t you women be a little more honest with a current picture. 200 pounds is not a few extra pounds. The women I met were rude, ugly, fat, stupid, very liberal which I am not. I could go on, but you get the point. Stay away from this site.
Janet says
Seems like most of the dating websites are money making schemes that prey on honest well meaning people. I’ve joined most of them and I experienced most of the comments posted. I was thinking on joining our time but not anymore after reading the comments. I’m a well educated retired woman who taught college and looking for someone with similar background. The matches I got were actually unmatches and even scammers. Many pictures posted were repeat pictures from years back when I started joining. Can’t find quality Match at all. I wish someone can come up with a dating website with integrity and truly interested in helping individuals.
Cynthia Someone says
I have encountered my very first online scammer at the OT site.
But let me backtrack. It’s poorly run site. I only meant to try it for 1 month but got billed for 6. Apparently somewhere in the sign-up they made it convenient for me to hit the wrong button. When a mistake is made, it is all but impossible to get ahold of customer service or get a refund. They just send you all sorts of lengthy red tape to read. I messed up, but I sure won’t do it again.
BTW, if you don’t go into your account information and opt-out, they will put you on automatic renewal status.
The other thing is, the site generates fake messages about “flirts” and people who supposedly “liked” your profile.
The daily matches are a joke. While it is possible to set a few (VERY FEW) search parameters, they don’t mean a thing. The site suggests “matches” that aren’t at all what you are looking for in terms of age, location, smoking/non-smoking, etc.
And there must not be very many men on the site, because my so-called “daily matches” just recycle the same old photos of people I already said “no” to.
There are plenty of men who can’t comb their hair or put on a clean shirt to have their picture taken. Over half of them have somehow worked the word “hot” or something more sexually suggestive into their on-screen name. Judging by the amount of poor grammar you encounter in the profiles, it’s a wonder many of members managed to pass the 6th grade – but of course they say they have a college degree and a good career. I doubt it.
And now I’ve met a scammer. Be careful. He seemed ok at first. He asked to move to private email because, he led me to believe, he was going to be leaving the site. I cautiously agreed – but did not give him my primary email that is attached to anything else like accounts or anything. Pretty soon I noticed some troubling patterns. His mssgs became too “romantic” too fast. He never actually responded to direct questions and his information was so generic and superficial (favorite color, etc) that I knew absolutely nothing about the guy. His messages seemed canned. And his command of the English language seemed to deteriorate.
The last straw was when I sensed something was wrong and I confronted him (politely) about it. I asked him to please respond about the things I had talked about in my messages. He sent another canned message about me being the perfect woman for him! LOL!
I blocked and reported him. And I’m very glad that, although I never lied, I did hold back on revealing anything of a personal or private nature that would allow him to find me or access accounts or anything.
When I submitted my concern, I just got a screen mssg that said “it takes time to investigate your concern.” I doubt that anything will be done. And it is not possible to check up on his profile or anything without unblocking him – which I am not about to do!
So be careful. I am giving lowest possible ratings.
Anne Decare says
I had so many similar things happen with my profile as well. To add insult, I was charged more than what they advertised. I tried sending a message asking for it to be refunded the entire amount, or the difference. Their choice. No surprise they didn’t respond. Checked them out on BBB – they’ve an -F rating. You can’t get any lower.
I can’t believe I fell for this site.
Do we have a leg to stand on, or are we out of luck?

This is one of the worse dating sites out there. Just because it appears as thro someone has checked out your profile, don’t believe it. I have been a member of OT for about 8 months, I do like a dating site for over 50. I do not like that every time I log in chat is on and I cannot delete it permanently as you can on match.com.I do not like that every time you just look at a profile , or daily match the other party thinks you are interested and have had interaction with a few who we both said the same thing that it is confusing. I have talked to some real people and been approached by those who want me to reply to their private email(scammer alert-widowed, earns 100k and is on business out of the country.writes prose to you, maybe all lower case, maybe not ). All sites have scammers free or paid for. There are picky men and picky women. Everyone skis, plays golf, walks the beach, wants the last love of their life and exercises 4 times a week..oh yes looks much younger then they are. Never understood why some do not post pictures or who do post family photos especially with kids that are now on the internet for all to see. On all sites some lie about their age to get better matches. All sites have members who do not respond because they are not interested in the picture or your profile whether you are a man or woman it is the same and could be because you just do not want to hurt someone’s feelings and aren’t sure how to say not interested well. When I first joined the world of online dating I responded to everyone being polite since they took the time to reach out but then when a couple of them yelled at me because I politely said I was not interested then I too stopped replying unless I was interested. That is not a gender specific thing it is something all genders do. I have used Match and there are issues with them as well,POF(free) no issues, Eharmony(can’t pick yourself ,they pick and did not ever like who they matched me to even after that lengthy profile) and now Our Time. On all the sites you will see the same people and if you use two sites at the same time may see the same people with different login names but same photos. Some people disappear and seem blocked then come back under another or same name not sure why. I did not know it was so hard to cancel a membership over time but will now check that out. All people get sick of the site they use and try something else hoping for a better outcome. I did find OT to have people in my area as I do with POF.
Julie says
I can’t believe I spent over $80 on this site. It was truly a waste of time and money, filled with scammers and illiterates and stalkers. Ninety percent of the men I have gotten messages from can’t manage to write a sentence. They claim to have a college education…..sorry, what college is that? I’m sure there must be some “real” people out there like myself, just trying to find someone compatible to share their live and love with, but Our Time is definitely not worth the money or time. I will not join another site after this experience. Just one more thing to add…this site will do whatever it takes (including setting up false flirts and favorites) to keep you as a member.

POS dating site. It won’t let you put your preference in age or city/state. It sends you your matches for the day but your actually routed to their full profile so it looks like your interested. When I turned the automatic renewal off it proceeded to send me an email every 15 mins telling me I have 143 flirts. The men are lying about their age because they look 70 and say they are 45. Just a waste of money but they don’t care because we were stupid enough to believe their commercial showing very handsome older men.

At first I was extremely po’d at this website (several posts to that effect) and am counting down the days until my “membership” terminates (hopefully–it’s set to not renew), but I thought that I’d share what has to be an all-time classic woman’s profile that I encountered today.
No picture.
Only thing in her profile is “I’m new to this and my dog is chewing on my foot so I have to come back to it later”.
Good value for money–phantom woman being eaten by her phantom dog.

This is the worst dating site. I get messages from guys saying I “favorite” them when I didn’t. I get “flirts” from guys and when I try to contact them, they say they didn’t send it. Not sure what the deal is with them. And their mobile app is horrible. I can’t think of anything good to say about this site. Just very disappointed. Plenty Of Fish is much better. Luckily I only paid for 1 month and then I’m out.

What no one mentions on here that I find incredibly concerning, is that I just found 23 profiles that rotate 3 profiles between them. I don’t know if this is the work of scammers or the website itself to “fill up space”. I’m inclined to report them to the Better Business Bureau, even if only for not monitoring their website more efficiently. If I can find that just in local searches, what’s going on across the country?

I am not signed up with OurTime, but I’ve been getting emails from them about what they claim is my dating profile for two days now. Either their site is so poorly done that someone can create a profile using someone else’s email address, OR this site is a scam hoping to trick people into clicking on all these emails they send.
I would HIGHLY recommend avoiding a website that clearly has some security issues going on.

AUTO RENEWAL HARD SELL
In addition to all of the dysfunctional complaints that I’ve posted before, including turning off the automatic renewal option, the scumbags that run this shill have now forced an automatic popup prompting me to renew (this “subscription” expires on July 28/15) for six more months at a “discounted” 25% off rate of $80.96 (Cdn). This popup doesn’t seem to be able to be turned off and only has the renewal option visible. It basically seems to deactivate all other menu options so I can’t even check my account status.
TREAT THIS WEBSITE LIKE IT’S A CYBER EBOLA VIRUS.

Waste of money! I helped my dad set it up and I can’t even figure it out for him. You can’t specify the exact age range you’re looking for, and you can’t even select the distance from where you live. Unless you do a special search every time. I set him up with okcupid which is so much ore user-friendly. I regret helpings dad use this site. It’s complete garbage.

This site is a scam. I’ve only been on since January 1. I am a 50 year old professional. I have been contacted by a man whose screen name is “Boobman”, a man who describes himself as “a daily drinker seeking a casual relationship”, and a 43 year old inmate of the state penitentiary that I finally had to block. I tried to cancel my renewal, which resulted in the site charging me for another automatic renewal. Wish I’d done some research before signing up!

WARNING RE OURTIME
Anyone thinking of joining this POS should look at the Wikipedia entry on People Media, the company supposedly running this crap. Wikipedia has its own issues, but at the top of the page that has a huge warning cautioning that it reads like it was written as an advertisement.
Final rant. This is now a bad memory.
Tony says
Don’t see why all the “hate” for OurTime. I am 63 year old male. Signed up Jan.3 2015. In less than a month I had 60+ mails from women. Yes, I deleted two-thirds because of their looks, age, etc. Still plenty left and still getting 3 or more mails weekly. I have dated 5 ladies so far, two may be a match.
1- Write a good profile, say what you want, but keep it light and jovial. Don’t LIE.
2-Post a good clear pic, more than one if available. use a CURRENT pic.
2- Why all the complaints about the “search”. Go to the “match” box, enter your state and age range. If one comes up that looks good, you can click on the photo and view there profile, before saying you like them. What’s the problem? You’re looking for dates, right?
3- The only complaint I have, is their live chat box. It has to be the slowest on the web.
I contacted customer service about a email I received, a scam posing as OurTime. They were quick to respond and took action.
I have been very satisfied with my results, would recommend it.

Third rant on this POS in the past five or six days.
I previously posted that I shut my account renewal status to “off” and since I check it every day to make sure that the f*ckers don’t change it back, I thought that I’d check my 5 “matches”.
Four in BC and one in Quebec. I live in the Toronto area.
At least they haven’t tried matching me up with someone in Romania or Bulgaria.
Janie says
This site is the worse of all. I have been matched up with some real doozies. I even had a 23 yr. old kid hit up on me and I am 60. I believe alot of these people LIE about their age and just are LIAR’s period They say their around 53 yrs. old, and they look more like they are in or close to 70’s, and some look burned out from drugs and drinking. Good grief. The ones that are somewhat nice looking are stuck up. Most are has-beens Some of them are vulgar or down in out rude. There might be some good ones out there but where? 3000 miles away!
My subscription will end Feb. 4 and it better I checked NOT to renew. Now that it is getting closer to expiring that’s all I get are pop ups to reactivate. I joined for 3 months and thats enough for me. I joined thinking I would find my dream man, that only happens in the movies or on their commercials. Lets get real.
And about no photos or profile is a wake up call, what are they hiding???? Plus some of these people are married who needs that? I don’t. Ourtime just better not charge my credit card again if they do I will call my bank to cancel my card. In my opinion don’t sign up and to those who found someone, good luck and watch your back. I rather go out with someone I know not a stranger who coos you and tells you how beautiful you are without even meeting you. Jerks.
To ourtime its a money making business…

CANCELLING AUTO RENEWAL
It’s only been three days on this piece of crap and I’ve already given up. My six month membership is a sunk and lost cost, but I found out how to cancel auto renewal.
Buried in “My account” is a box labelled “Account Status”. when you first pull it up, the auto renewal is fixed to “Yes”. Buried somewhere in there (can’t remember where–sorry) is an edit option that allows you to turn this off. I did so, checked my account status, and it confirmed that auto renewal is off and that my membership will expire when it’s supposed to.
Whether that’s the case tomorrow, I don’t know. Will have to check that and f*ck the potential “matches”.

Can you all bear with me once more? I cannot stress this enough – UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should anyone join this site. You can read my past gripes and fits if you like but let me add this one. I wanted to wait on it but I cannot. This is totally unbelievable.
Over the past week, I received two particular views to my profile. One of those views was from a woman listed as 29 but easily looks in their 60s. Another profile said she was 41 but the picture was likely someone over 70. It may have been photoshopped as the image looked somewhat like a moderately healthy living Mother Theresa.
I thought this site was for 50+ folks. I can see a stretch to the 40s but 29, totally ridiculous, let alone that this was not the same person as the pictures. I have a few flirts (likely false ones) & messages that I cannot check because my subscriptions to both Our Time and Love & Seek are expired and not renewed. I really don’t care any more any way; I just visit for the heck of it (I wrote them several times by both e-mail & snail mail to permanently close my accounts, nary a response). This site and its companions should all be shut down and read the riot act. Thankfully they cannot charge my debit card since I paid by check. They are a colossal embarrassment.
Our Time and its related sites are so bad that I am in the early stages of considering whether to start a dating service that will do what Our Time and perhaps others aren’t doing. In the next few days, I will be registering a domain that, shockingly, is available and matches to a T what I am pondering. It is IMO view very catchy and potentially explosive. I will soon provide a domain e-mail address for people to share what they are looking for in such a service as well as their comments, complaints, thoughts, opinions, etc. I cannot guarantee I will do this but if the demand is expressed, I will look for tech people to help put it all together. If there was a phrase stronger than “utter disaster”, Our Time and its crony sites would fit the proverbial shoe; they should wear it.
It’s clear to me that there is a significant market for single guys & gals of all ages (though more so older ones, like 45-60 & more) and many such folks are disillusioned & disaffected by the likes of Our Time (the volume of negative comments is proof big time). I will be back soon to make the announcement but meanwhile, tell all your unmarried friends seeking soulmates to bypass Our Time at all costs. I don’t know what possesses the people running this site to do what they do but it all looks like a bunch of incompetent teenagers who love to deliberately botch what could have otherwise been a worthwhile site for an age market in dire need of it.
Again, if you’re reading this and thinking about joining OT, DON’T DO IT, not even the free part (which will frustrate you anyway since you will have to pay to access the necessary aspects of this site to find someone – and half the profiles you read anyway will be half to virtually empty and without photos). I can’t personally vouch for eHarmony, Christian Mingle or Plenty of Fish (I’m intentionally not mentioning Match since they appear to own OT and L&S) but I can unequivocally say that OT is an unmitigated disaster of epic proportion and NOT recommended for anyone.

I hope you do this. Programming is not my specialty, would love to tackle this myself. There is no reason why this could not be done successfully. This is what led me to this website. Most of my clients are in this age range and have asked me to check this out. I searched for reviews of this website before I signed up and unfortunately somehow didn’t find any. I’ve been on it for three days and I’m already ready to quit
Somehow I managed to trigger a bunch of false flirts. I have not been able to get my photo to stick despite uploading it five times; it appears five times in the “Album Only” portion of the profile page, but is invisible to users. The FAQ and help section appears under the chat box, which can’t be dragged and parked to another part of the page in order to display the text in the FAQs. I was corresponding with one woman who kept bugging me for a picture (fair)and when I couldn’t get it to stick, I suggested sending it to a private, off-site e-mail account. She immediately shut me down saying that she had “done some reading and this is a sign that you’re trying to scam me”. I don’t know how asking for an anonymous e-mail can lead to a scam, but buried in the site’s advice is the caution that anyone asking for private e-mails early in the process may be a scammer. Hardly; I was just trying to work around their crappy system. Considering their target market, I assume that they’re including this to placate less savvy computer users.
They also stripped some stuff out of my profile for no good reason (just a URL reference) that left me looking like an idiot. Didn’t notice it until I reviewed my profile.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS POS.

Overall, I have not found this to be a good site. I don’t like that as I sift through the many people on it, that they get notification that I have read their profile and it looks like I am interested, even when I am not. OR, if I saved someone as a “favorite” so I could have a way to sift through the options, they automatically get a notification saying they are my favorite. It continues to show me the same guys over and over and over again – of the few that came any where near being a potential match, 2 were scam artists and only one turned out to be a nice guy, but not a good match. There is no way to narrow down what one is looking for and there are SOOOO many people listed as being “separated” – which I would not touch with a 10 foot pole. The last thing I need is to be dragged into the middle of someone’s marriage as it is on the rocks. I would say about 40-50% of the men who showed up as viewing and interested had no photo and many did not have any of their profile completed, so I can’t help but wonder if they even exist. There is no way to really narrow the search of who sees you and vice-versa, so although I live in California, I had a good deal of interested men from other parts of the country that I would not choose to live in. There needs to be a better system to not waste time – although it asks political affiliation, there is no way to narrow to those who are like-minded. Although it asks marital status, there is no way to narrow to those who are legally divorced or widowed. Although it asks if you have kids, there is no way to narrow your search to those with, or without, kids. etc etc

If I may, let me continue sharing my soap opera with Our Time and its sister site Love & Seek (see my earlier posts). My L&S subscription expired a few days ago & I elected not to renew. Yet I get e-mails saying “someone flirted with you” or a similar message appears on my web page. Although I can no longer access my premium features, I am smart enough to look in the left margin to see that there are no red highlights, indicators that ladies are attempting to reach me, thus necessitating my renewal to do so.
Anyway, when I click the designated link on my web page or in the e-mail, it takes me to an upgrade page. While not personally bothersome, it is deceptive because it is telling me some woman is interested in me, thus warranting a response, when such is not the case. I feel OT and L&S are doing this because I believe they are hemorrhaging customers. My basis for my view is because, contrasted to a month ago, the L&S renewal fee is almost half what it was with OT’s renewal fees about 40% less.
Now at my e-mailbox today I got a message saying that one particular lady at the OT site (of which I have a few more days before letting that expire as well) flirted with me. Before I clicked the link, I saw the user name in the background of the e-mail. Bad idea on OT’s part. Why? Because this particular woman was in touch with me previously. The issue was that I got a false flirt from her before. I noted this to her back then. She replied to me at the time (about a month back) saying that she did not flirt with me. She said she did see my profile, thought I appeared to be a very nice guy but felt we were not compatible. I totally agreed with her sentiment as I thought she had a decent profile as well but I did not find her appealing. Now her picture appeared in my e-mail daily list of 5 and then in this false flirt today. What the heck is going on here? This is completely nuts but it generally corroborates what so many users are saying about this totally discombobulated outfit.
Let me at least add this. I had dinner last Friday with a fine woman I met via L&S. We’ve been texting, e-mailing, spending long hours on the phone & then finally had our face to face. In short, it was thrilling. Only God knows where it’s going from here but I think I am well versed on the facts & features on this site to intelligently comment and say this: you may find your partner at either site, you may not. The reason you are more likely not to is because of the boatload of errors that exist at both sites – bogus flirts, bogus views, false contacts, semi-empty or virtually empty profiles (which, IMO, should not be permitted to appear til fully complete), scant few replies to messages left to the women allegedly contacted with the uncertainty whether some of these ladies actually exist. The parameters you specify of the ages, distances & other preferences you choose to meet or not meet (as the case may be) someone are also largely ignored. It’s like you go into a restaurant to order your food but instead of ordering what you want, the restaurant decides in its own wisdom what it feels you would enjoy.
I obviously can’t speak to the quality & availability of guys at either site but I feel it’s really a disservice to both the guys & gals who take the time to put up good profiles, decent pictures & who go to great lengths to share their bios in order to find quality guys & gals, only to get this kind of cruddy service when, as I noted in a previous post, there is a niche market for us 50ish folk. This is a haphazard organization that appears to have little interest in helping match the longing hearts that want their soulmates. I could not in good conscience run a site like this. I could fix it up to a degree by fixing the code. Sadly, however, the only way I’ll be able to rectify these sites is when pigs fly and the cows come home.
And I also echo what everyone else says about OT’s customer service, it is thoroughly accurate.
I have sincerely tried finding ways to endorse these sites (they appear to be owned by Match.com) but am unable to do so. Again, you might find someone here but unless you got a lucky charm of some sort or divine inspiration & unless you have the patience of Job, you may want to think long & hard before deciding to throw money (even at a reduced rate) at OT, L&S and their other smaller sister sites (noted in their e-mails). Very, very disappointing.

I guess I am a very lucky person because I found someone delightful after just one month on Ourtime.com. He lives in the same small town as I, but chances are we never would have discovered one another if it hadn’t been for the dating site. I do think OurTime’s flirt feature is silly, and I never really tried a search.
My new guy’s profile came to my attention because of the instant match feature on the site. That’s where they put up 5 profiles for you to say if you would date them or not. It’s not enough to just click, yes I would be interested, though. Most likely you will never hear anything back. I was particularly struck by one of my boyfriend’s photos on his profile, so I liked the photo and commented on it asking him about where it was taken. From there we began emailing and discovered many things we have in common. He sent me his phone number but I’m not the type to call first. However, I did text him a picture of something I thought he would find amusing when I was out of town for Thanksgiving. A couple of weeks later he called and we made a first date for a easy hike on a well traveled trail in our town. The relationship has built steadily from there.
I am just writing this to say that you can find someone genuine and lovely on OurTime. You probably can on most any dating site though. There may be much better ones out there. The only other one I tried was Plenty of Fish. I actually preferred OurTime to that one. But I wasn’t on either for very long and have pulled down both my profiles now.
Good luck, everyone!

The worst dating site EVER! I am 51 and was hoping this would be a good site to find older men. Well, you can’t even do an advanced search by certain criteria such as smokes/doesn’t smoke, salary, etc. The only think I can use is age and distance. I am not a big fan of Match.com either due to the amount of fakes (from other countries) on there, but it is much better. Ourtime in spite of the commercials with impossibly young looking “seniors” is simply a big waste of time unless you are welling to date “anyone” at all. AWFUL – don’t waste your time on this one!

HORRID – HORRID – HORRID … A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!
And this opinion is reinforced after having rejoined – and spending only one week attempting to use the site!
WHY I rejoined after being off for over a year is a real mystery. I suppose I thought they had finally made the site available to their “paid’ users!!! WHY DOES THIS SITE CONSTANTLY LOG A USER OUT after being logged in for perhaps 10 minutes?? Attempting to use the search option to view another user’s information is a joke… I can read about 3 – 4 profiles and then … wham… I am logged out by the DELIBERATE TECHNOLOGY of this stupid site – and without any warning or option to stay logged in.
I paid for a subscription that is NOT AT ALL USER FRIENDLY!!! The pictures are itsy bitty and cannot be enlarged… try to block someone from contact and the site’s pop-up leaves one wondering if the person was blocked – and I could go on – but why bother – they certainly have no idea of the frustration their rigidity causes – or maybe they do and simply do not even care!!
DO NOT – I REPEAT – DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THIS SITE – USE MATCH.COM OR PLENTY OF FISH … THIS SITE IS WORTHLESS!!!

It seems that many sites of this kind, have a lot to improve.
as some people mentioned, I have sent many replies to women, that seem interested, but then, never hear from them.
Some day some one, really will create a site, that people can truly meet people in person. some commented, that they want a one night stand, that is such a nonsense statement, a site for
young singles, in the mid twenties, maybe, but for mature people, would not make sense.
If we can go to the Moon and beyond, some one would create an
easy to use, and, honest nice people, that want to talk and meet new friends. I am sure that person will be a woman, they are smarter than men

This site was a huge disappointment; apparently they consider anyone of the opposite sex who has a pulse and lives in the contiguous US is a likely match, no matter the criteria I put in. I joined in August, and of the 450-500 “matches” they’ve sent me, I’ve reached out to the only four or five that were remotely suitable (none of them worked out, primarily because I’m a smoker, an atheist, and a tough match). Of the several dozen or so that have contacted me, I wound up getting one banned (totally misrepresented himself); most were of no interest, and the few that I responded to favorably never got back to me. I strongly suspect that these contacts were generated by ourtime.com itself to keep me interested . . . I find it hard to imagine that someone would take the time to express interest and then never acknowledge my responses. Although my subscription doesn’t end until mid-February, I’ve already cancelled a renewal and, fortunately, I’d already cancelled the particular card I’d charged my membership to. What a joke.

I got on this site and stayed on for approximately 3 or 4 days. I did not like the fact that the site was advertised as free, but you have to pay to get any of the features to work. I also got flirts from folks who were in other states hundreds of miles away. I’ve been through this before with several other websites, so I knew NOT to enter my credit card number. I was extremely disappointed with OurTime. I also received matches from men hundreds of miles away. I spent a lot of time creating a complete profile, but most of the men I was matched with had very little information. The only criteria for a “match” seems to be an age range of 20 years (10 years older and 10 years younger than I), and usually they lived within about 50 miles. I couldn’t find anything in common with almost all of them. Someone else mentioned that most of the women were “duds.” I think that’s an excellent description of most of the men, and the most I ever received from them were “flirts” (an invitation for me to contact them), or at best, a “canned” description of them that was sent to me disguised as a personal message. It was a complete waste of my time. I never found anyone worth considering.

See my reviews from 11/23 & 12/18. This is an update for those who are considering Our Time and/or want my latest experience with them.
Within 12 hours after threatening customer service that I would go to the media with my issues if they didn’t fix them, I got my upgrade to Our Time (in addition to the current account I have with their sister site, Love & Seek). I only did so because my curiosity got the best of me; I wanted to see who tried reaching me, either by flirt or by message. Unfortunately, the one person I hoped was trying to contact me was not the person. Only one person of all who initiated contact with me was one I shared my interests with but subsequent attempts to reach this woman were unsuccessful.
I don’t want to repeat much of what I previously said except to say again that if you want to go thru all the red tape to join here OT or L&S, send them a check. Do not risk getting a 6 month charge by submitting your credit or debit card for a one month membership. Again, there is a niche market for my age group but I don’t think they’ll get the message of fixing their issues unless they get an avalanche of checks and money orders for one month memberships (if you choose to use OT and/or L&S) sans the use of credit/debit cards.
I must add that a vast many profiles sent to mailboxes are from women who are total duds and have little info in their portfolios (I daresay there are women who feel precisely the same way about the list of available guys). Many of them are way out age-wise (too young or way too old) and whose interests and views do not jive with those receiving them. Admittedly there are a few good ladies who took the time to identify themselves fairly well but there are so many who don’t. The L&S site is a little better than OT but there are fewer profiles to view, perhaps because it caters to a more Judeo-Christian crowd (like me). Fortunately (at least for the moment), I have hit it off for two weeks with a lovely woman and we are considering dating. That said, I don’t want to give anyone false hope that they’ll find their mate at either site, especially with the endless troubles potentially to be encountered. But again, whatever you do, if you want to join these guys, unlike the American Express card where you don’t want to leave home without it, leave your Visa/MC out of the payment system (they don’t take AE anyway).
Nedd says
See my original post from 11/23. This is an update.
A couple days after, I sent a check for Our Time’s sister site, Love & Seek. It’s $13 cheaper and if you believe in Judeo-Christian values, you’ll get more profiles in line than at Our Time. Anyway, because OT would not take my debit card and because of all the problems other reviewers here have had, I decided to do a check instead. I wanted to see if I could find someone at what I thought was a fair price. I don’t know but as of today, I think I at least found a good friend. Whether it goes further than that, only God knows.
However, it took several days of waiting and of e-mails to People Media (owners of OT and L&S) before I got a notice of an upgrade at L&S. I was relieved at the aggravation – until now.
Because I was getting notices at OT that there were ladies wanting to reach me, I reluctantly decided to fork over $33.98 (which includes its useless $3.99 processing fee) for a month at OT. The check was received early last week (best guesstimate) and after several e-mails late in the week and early this week trying to get a status update, I got a notice Tuesday nite that I was upgraded (after calling my bank earlier in the day to see if my check was cashed, which it was). That was supposed to be encouraging because I wanted to contact those allegedly flirting and interested in my profile with one particular person’s profile in mind.
However, after being informed I was upgraded at OT, I tried accessing the features for those upgraded. But I kept getting redirected to an upgrade page yesterday – and to this day I still get that same redirect, even though I am paid and their e-mails to me acknowledge my payment.
Now I check my mailbox this morning and get an OT e-mail stating I was given an extension upgrade at L&S. I nearly blew a gasket because my check to People Media noted in the memo section that it was for OT and not L&S. It made no sense for People Media to do so since the monthly subscription rate at OT is $13 greater than L&S. In short, I wanted to finish my monthly subscription at L&S (appr. to the end of December) while simultaneously taking a one month membership at OT that would last roughly til mid January. Instead I now got a month and a half to two months at L&S and none at OT. I was and am hotter than a hornet’s nest and I virtually never get this enraged at any business. It seems like OT’s people are like Obama – both are deliberately doing things contrary to decency and good natural order.
Oh, and did I mention that if you want to see if your messages to others were opened, you pay an extra $6 for that? That is a total joke, even more so in light of People Media & OT’s complete incompetence.
Ironically to a degree, in wrongly being redirected to an OT upgrade page, I now notice a drop in price in membership, be it a month, three months or six months. It seems to tell me that these guys may be in financial trouble, thus the price reductions. Yet they can’t get their basic operations right. It’s completely unbelievable. Even someone like me who has limited tech experience on the net can fix some of this site’s problems by simply examining and removing its faulty HTML code. It seems as though these guys want to do things the wrong way. I’m at a point I’m now writing the media to do an investigation of these guys. I despise most of today’s Obama loving media but someone has to shine a spotlight on this sleazy operation.
There are issues with OT and L&S that need addressing but the lack of common sense and general good business acumen are the worst of the problems. I sense they may be soon going belly up. It would not surprise. It’s disappointing because there is a niche market for people like me in our 50s. I cannot recommend this site until and if these issues are resolved. Christians may wish to visit BigChurch.com as that has better reviews and seems more in line.
Bottom line, if you are determined to take out a membership at OT or L&S, do not use a credit or debit card. Fortunately for me, the site kicked mine out but based on the reports of those who had unauthorized dollar amounts deducted, doing so would seem to be an ominous road ahead. Write a check if you must but be prepared for other issues.
I never did business with any company like this and I have dealt with bad apples previously. This is totally crazy.

Yes this site auto-renews you without letting you know. I had to call my credit card company to get their phone number-no it wasn’t on their site. After a hassle they did take off the $89 charge. Yes, they sent many women Flirts in my name without myknowledge. Most of those were on days I wasn’t on their site. Yes, I received Flirts from women who didn’t send them. This site is apparently a big scam. Keep your money and go elsewhere.

I would NEVER recommend this site to anyone.
Despite the really nice TV ads, this site is awful. It’s not just for seniors and lets anyone of any age join, and I got a lot of messages from young guys looking for Cougars. I’M NOT A COUGAR!
Ourtime clogs your Inbox with worthless messages, never letting you see who contacted you unless you go to their website. You can never get your messages via your personal email account but only view them in their website. Also, their website is NOT user friendly, and their search SUCKS.
When you want to cancel your PAID subscription, it is nearly impossible to find how to do so. It’s a guess. Even when you’re resourceful enough to find how to stop “renewals,” there is NO confirmation that you did this.
HORRIBLE SITE.

Signed on for one month and billed for 6 months at 84.95.. no number ot call ortoo difficult to find so i filled out online question..
ended up calling my credit card company to file chargeback of funds.
Still waiting to hear outcome.
I dont trust this company …DONT GIVE THEM YOUR CC NUMBER .. no obvious customer service number is a big red flag.
other than this billing scam , the site seems to work ok

The site sends flirts, etc. as you without your knowledge. Additionally, there is not way to set simple search criteria except age…all ages on this site, not just 50+. Chat (which I do not like) is on each time you log in or refresh even if you turned it off. I get message emails responding to me even though I have not sent anyone a message. This is the worst site ever! I wish I had read these reviews before entering my credit card info. This site is a scam!!

I have read various comments and found out that I am not alone. Why does this site feel the need to post others profiles on your site when they haven’t even looked at you? That’s not right and very misleading.. Ourtime needs to keep to the business of providing a service… If people are interested in someone, they will go there… Ourtime is a joke…

Actually found a person by her picture on a free dating site who ourtime indicated she viewed my profile 8 or 9 times. So I messaged her on this free dating site and she said she was on ourtime but never once viewed my profile.

Can anyone tell me, what about those pre paid credit cards you can
buy at the store? I have never bought one but thinking about it
to try out Our Time for one month. Our Time can’t continue to take money
from your account, right?
I haven’t joined so not sure what info Our Time wants.
Thanks!

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR THESE HORRIBLE, YET HONEST REVIEWS!
Because of you I didn’t enter my credit card! Thank you!!
I was checking out the guys in the Northern CA area
and found three guys I was going to contact, but thanks
to the reviews, I removed my non paying profile which had
31 messages. Maybe even fake messages?
Before removing my profile I tried to call Our Time but could only
email, so I emailed and it would not send, came up ERROR.
I would NEVER do business with a company that did not post a phone number.
I also found EHarmony a waste of time, guys never open their emails.
Removed my profile from there too.
Now I’m on POF.
Good luck to everyone!

This a just a horrible, horrible, horrible site. The “matches” are a joke, I get more fake profiles, unbelievably inappropriate messages, I have had to block over 50 men . And yes, I am one of those good looking women that gets a least 10-20 “flirts” a day which I always delete. The few times I’ve met some of these men all they wanted was sex. Don’t EVER try to non-renew ,they start putting pop-ups that if you close them the wrong way you wind up signing up for more time, then comes the horrible ordeal of contacting customer service.
This site is owned by the same company that owns Match.com, another joke.

The worst of any kind of website to which I have ever attempted to subscribe. No luck upgrading my subscription to a normal level of membership that would allow me to be seen by other members or interact with them. I couldn’t upgrade, I couldn’t upload any photos, I couldn’t see who had viewed me, I couldn’t respond to anyone. Totally useless and unfortunately this was my first attempt to even look at a dating website. Very off-putting.

Thank you, everyone who posted the bad vibes they got at Our Time, including the ripoffs and unworkable profiles. My experience is a bit the opposite, though still very poor. I have to believe it was the Lord that kept me from signing up with these guys & their companion site, LoveAndSeek.com, which is a bit cheaper and maybe a bit better but a bit better isn’t saying much, considering the overall image they possess.
I had tried signing up for several days with Our Time & Love and Seek but I kept getting a “credit card declined” message. This was absolutely BS as my MasterCard debit card had ample funds to pay for the service. It took forever to find a way to reach customer service after filling out their online forms and then when I finally got thru (like 3 days later), I get a canned response 24+ hours after, basically parroting what I said, no in-depth investigation as to how to fix my problem.
I called my bank on Thursday to check on my money, even though I knew I had no problem. The bank rep said things were just fine on my end and that the problem was not with them, which I fully believed before I called. I’ve only once had a decline of my card in the 2 1/2 years I’ve had it and that was a year ago when I tried making a donation online to a group I backed (again, not my fault but theirs). My guess is that Our Time, like that donation outfit, banks with Bank of America, which is the only institution my debit card has ever problems with.
Furthermore, when my card was errantly declined, one of Our Time’s web pages said I could pay by PayPal (or Western Union, which is ridiculous) but I could not find an address to send the money to. Then another page said it was not yet set up for PayPal but implied it might in the future. I am no technical expert by any stretch of the imagination but this 54 year young guy has put together websites thru tools provided by web hosts and one thing I know for sure – I sure as heck am not going to say one thing on one web page and just the opposite on another. This alone shatters any credibility People Media (which owns Our Time & Love and Seek) may have. Any website saying two diametrically opposite things is a site to steer far from – like Our Time.
There was only one person I found out of the many dozens of profiles I had some interest in but because my card keeps getting turned down, I can’t access that profile. Perhaps it’s of divine design I can’t. I’m really frustrated as I’m serious about finding a marriage partner. Perhaps I shouldn’t do this but any woman in the IL/IN area seeking a true Christian guy can feel free to write me at nedd at inbox dot com.
Two words describe Our Time & the experience: incompetent and abysmal. Do not waste your time here.

If you find a Women on this site who you think is attractive, chances are 100 or more guys think the same way, making you a 100 to 1 shot, so if your not TALL or handsome, forget it, they will look at your profile and leave, Even if you email them or send them a flirt, they want nothing to with you because they have 99 other guys to choose from and the pickings look better to them.
The attractive ones are shallow and materialistic, they have high expectations and are for the most part “stuck up” it’s more than likely the reason their divorced.
If you want to them to contact you, LIE, and LIE a lot, You make over $150K, your in the medical profession, a Harvard graduate, Post a phony picture of a good looking dude standing in front of his Porche Boxter and watch your inbox fill up, trust me, IT WORKS!.. These woman are not looking for meaningful relationships, it’s all about great looks and a lot of money.

They suck! I have fought with them with no response. There are STALKERS there that I have reported. They have done nothing to protect me and others. A big fat 0 rating is in order for them! I feel the need to escalate this to authorities.

Just adding my 2 cents. Our Time is a terrible dating site. The customer care is poor. Member’s in “my area” are often more than 100 miles away. My picture apparently is being shown to folks across the country as half the gents that visit my profile are from the opposite coast.
I’m a paying member- but you can’t distinguish between paying members who can read a message and non paying members who will never see your message. And yet …the non paying members can send a message or flirt!
And there are popups for paying members to get you to autorenew which you must close multiple times.I get less ads on a free site like Plenty of Fish.
Don’t waste your time with OurTime.

This is one of the worst online dating site for seniors. The matches they send you are not matches. Our time only want people money. I rate
this site a perfect 0. Our time is not deserving of any stars.

Terrible, terrible dating site. There is no way of controlling where the daters live. I was getting winks etc. from all over the world. What is the point of that?
You will not get a refund even if you cancel on the same day because the site states that you have full access to your account for the month.
Even though it looks like you’re signing up for one month, auto renewal is buried by many links and you have to dig deep to turn it off.
DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

This is by the far the BIGGEST RIP OFF – the most unprofessional and RUDE customer service reps I have ever dealt with. I signed up for 15 minutes and had such a horrible time with the never ending pop ups and poor user interface and navigation – totally disgusting – but the most irritating is that I did not even use the service for 30 minutes and they told me my membership was for ONE year – I am contacting my bank and cancelling this and calling this fraudulent billing and a SCAM – this was the WORST online dating experience I have EVER HAD and this company needs to be SUED and SUED NOW!!! The workers should be ashamed to be working for a SCAM!!

I also experienced the same as many of the reviews. In addition to this, I had discovered that many of the women on the OUR TIME site are cougars. Looking for boys-men in their teens and twenties. It is easy to lie about your age in order to become a member as long as you are using someone else’s credit card.
Michele says
This was, by far, the WORST experience I have ever encountered with a dating web site … with the exception of eharmony which matched me with truck drivers and farmers because I do not have a college degree! Forget the fact that I am well spoken, articulate, great with the written word, intelligent with lots of common sense.
Our Time will TELL you one thing verbally, while they WRITE something else totally contrary to your concerns. I was on this site for 7 – 10 days, max, asked to get my money back; was denied and let them know I will be adding to their plethora of horrible reviews, which I am starting to do right now.
The matches they will send you – OMG – they need to look at your pictures and see the ‘clowns’ they are ‘sending to you.’ I got my highest match rating with a man who said nothing about himself except for: sun sign, age, divorced, nonsmoker, Christian…that was it, period – my highest match! What is wrong with these people (rhetorical question)?
They have features I constantly disabled and kept getting winks, fav’d, and a host of other meaningless communications coming way – only to be TOLD the functions I disabled cannot really be disabled. There were so many concerns in a few days time that I simply resigned, asked for my money back, was denied (as stated above) and am not putting the word out there – MY WORD – MY HONEST WORD. It is the biggest racket and biggest joke going.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME NOR YOUR MONEY WITH OURTIME.COM.
It’s all about their time, their money; nothing else matters.
Moi says
Do NOT pay to join this senior dating site or any senior dating site. They are all fake! It is expensive, you get nothing in return, you can not contact anyone to complain!!! I tried several times. I even contacted the BBB and Our Time did not respond. What does this tell you? Do not fall for their false advertising either. Those people are ACTORS!!! Most profiles are fake or stagnant. The ones that aren’t, the men are rude and indecent, looking to lie to you or for sex. OurTime is in the business to steal your money! It is time for a class suit against Our Time.

Got charged 111.00 instead of the $80.00 special offer. I disputed thru my bank and got the difference back in my account only to get charged another $80 for 6 more months. I disputed this and received the money back in my account. The company still has my original $80 but they have shut me out of my account!! There is no one to contact and no way to get money back but I have reported this to the FCC and my state attorney generals office.
Jen says
Wish I would’ve read these reviews first. I signed up for 3 months and got charged for 6 months. Contacted them several times to refund the error. They never got back to me.
Put up a profile, one photo and some basic information. They kept asking for more info (a problem with most dating sites). No. Not telling my life story even before the first date.
I kept getting ‘winks’ and ‘likes’ and a few messages with generic “Hi there” messages. Delete. Glad I didn’t waste my time with guys who don’t send real messages, after I read here that they send in fake guys to entertain the ladies without asking them out.
A few weeks before my subscription expired, I started getting tons of winks, likes, and a return of old messages I had deleted. I canceled and immediately got pop-up messages pleading with me to re-up for a much lower cost. No. Not gonna let them rob me again.
lyn says
One of the worst websites (not just dating sites) I’ve seen. Not only did they charge me for 3 months when I signed up for 1 (I fought that, got a partial refund) but they keep changing my search criteria so my ‘daily matches’ are nothing near what I’m interested in. I’ve worked in the tech world for years and have done community mgmt. This company needs to be torn down & rebuilt from the top. If you’ve even a slight interest in this site, DON’T DO IT! Try POF or OKC or, for a little higher quality, Match. If you’ve got buckets of $, go for eHarm. This site blows.
Kurt says
What ever complaints others have with the site I will likely agree, however; the one thing I seem to have missed in these reviews is the fact that these people at OurTime are thieves!
I signed up for a one month trial with no repeat billing. When I tried to cancel after two weeks they gave me the run around until I was tired of it! Move ahead two months and I find I’m still paying. Tomorrow I go to my bank and close my account if they refuse to stop paying these creeps money I never agreed to pay. These people have guaranteed that I will never again visit any form of site for pay again! The worst thing about this s**t is our governments won’t do anything about them. And they can’t understand why the people they call terrorists hate the USA so much. The greatest people in the world are the most hated because they love their criminal government so much. I wish all of you the best!
Anne Harrison says
Worst online dating site ever! You can’t limit who contacts you except by age, so people write from all over the country. Very time-consuming to weed through all of that. Vicious billing – I had to cancel one of my credit cards to get out of the loop/

How I wish I would have read these review’s before I joined this site. I haven’t been able to get on it,out of the blue, since about 7 pm yesterday. Heaven help you if you need help. I called with in their time limits only to get a recorder and found they are not only available during their hours but are not even there to help on a weekend!! There goes your money down the drain if you need any help other than their days and times. This site is only here to help their staff not the people that pay them. Also they send the same messages from people over and over again. Never, never, never will I pay for this one more month.

I have had nothing but frustration with this company. I signed up with them but I could never get a picture posted on my profile. Repeated”canned” answers were posted to questions I submitted to get the problem solved, but weren’t applicable to the situation. They provided a space to write out your problem which you could submit and then they emailed you more “canned answers. However, there was a notation that if the “canned” answer wasn’t sufficient, you could reply to that “canned” email sent by them, [email protected], and a customer care person would respond. However, the email doesn’t work. When I attempted to reply, it repeatedly was returned to me saying that the email was in error. There appears to be no way to get in touch with a human being. They got away with my money; I received no contacts for the duration of the membership; absolutely nothing in return except frustration; a complete rip off!

People our age, 60ish, are lucky to have the internet for meeting other singles. I for one do not go out to bars or even circulate late at night in public areas where I could meet nice men. I joined OUR TIME for one month. It was not cheap, but I felt better not knowing what I was in for. I paid a little or $36 dollars with activation fee and tax etc.
After reading a few of these I am not sure if I will go back. I think it is the luck of the draw. In one month I met three men. I am very, very careful and very fussy. I am a widow and would like to meet another good man. From what I can tell many of them are there for fun and entertainment. One man I met drove for an hour and a half. He was polite and all but I would guess ten years older than his photo. We had a short lunch and he drove back. I called to make sure he got home safely and he sounded very mean. I thought he really must have been putting on quite an act. The other two were OK, but widowed recently and to me that was not quite appropriate. I know we, especially women, have to be very careful. Just because a man says looking for a long-term relationship does not mean he is not just out there looking for sex.
The format is OK there, but they keep prompting you for more information and that aggrevates me. I can say this- that e-harmony was very good and I met nice men and sincere, but too far away. I am not sure about them again because their price is too high and I suspect they do not have as many active members as they would like you to think. Places like Match and OUR TIME show the members on the site live and for better or for worse I like that. We have to take some chances in this life and be very careful when we do.
Rene says
After reading most of these reviews it is obvious that the our time.com website is scamming many people! There is a need out there for this type of assistance with meeting people ages 50 plus but obviously this website is not the answer.
What can I do to make this helpful for those of us who really want to meet people? What can we do to stop this website from continuing. Any lawyers out there that might be able to answer this?
David says
Although I’ve met some very nice women on this site, functionally I think it’s a poorly designed and maintained dating site. Like many of the other reviewers, I too get connections from potential mates way outside my criteria. Usually distance or age range. My profile always tells me that I’ve not completed it yet, even though I’ve answered all the questions in full. When I’ve reached out to their support team, I get either no response or “we can’t help you with your issue”. I would not recommend Ourtime to anyone.
Sandra Ward says
I have been widowed 2 years this past June, and at the encouragement of family friends, I joined OurTime.com. I met someone (June 17) who wanted to take our conversations to e-mail, phone and later a chat room. He stated that he was traveling to Ukraine for work – he is a “contractor with oil firms”. Up to this point I was enjoying he company, he made me feel alive again. But while he said he was overseas, he began to ask for money, first he was short with cash for a return flight back to US. August 7, I sent $2000 to his “daughter” who forwarded to him. Then his “cousin” called me and said that he was having machine mechanical problems and he needed $35,000. She would be sending $18K and requested that I send $17K. He also sent me a chat message and phone call (from international phone #) requesting the “loan”. I told him that I was not wealthy and did not have that kind of cash. He replied – YOU DO AND YOU KNOW THAT I KNOW YOU DO. He was monitoring me and my accounts on my computer. He asked if I was at home and I said no – I wanted the conversation to end, but he said I know that you are, I can see you. He said that he was flying back from Ukraine Aug 16 to see me. I told him to go home, that he only wanted me for money. During this time, he was very possessive, where are you, where are you going, when will you be home, who are you with and warning me not to listen to “others”? Now he says that he has nude photos of me online, that should be put on Facebook and he repeatedly said, I don’t want to hurt you. I have all my accounts, passwords changed. I took copies of chats (I did print out) to my bank, a Federal bank who says that this is extortion. I discussed with my lawyer who referred me to an SBI agent who says there is no one with that name in his given state Pennsylvania or that traveled in or out of the country the past 30 days. He did link his IP computer to a PA address, but to get the name, he has to have a court order. But because of the amount that I sent $2000, he says that the FBI will not go after the persons involved. The SBI agent has not returned 2 calls from me. I am too embarrassed to report to police and end up on the news.
I feel mentally and physically ill.
Steve says
This is a scam. I got the 6 months “best value” and had the following problems. on the matches; I kept getting the same ladies and no way to lock them out;( do you really want to pay $60 and keep getting your exwife’s photo?). On chat; I kept getting ages outside of my range and distances 2000 miles away; shouldn’t you start closer and work out?. I let the time run out and waited about 4 months and had something like 48 flirts and out of curtosity, I took the cheapest 6 months and found the flirts were fake. When I tried to contact the ladies, I don’t believe they were aware they had made a flirt. You should be able to set parameters and all functions should adhere to them. My preferences are ladies 42 – 55, why does search do 45 – 65? There in no way to comment or suggest something to this website and I recommend saving your money and staying away.
M.J. says
The Our Time dating website is a seemingly decent website, which is easy to navigate in. The problem is that when you are interested in someone, and/or have received messages and flirts in your mailbox, at which point you wish to upgrade, it becomes obvious that you cannot use your regular perfectly valid VISA credit card to do so. When contacting the customer care and asking for help or/and an explanation they simply answer: we are UNABLE to help you. After many letters back and forth they finally said: because you live outside the USA. But in their SEARCH OPTIONS all the way on top is ”the entire planet” as first option, and when creating a profile you can choose from whatever country you are from, or which ever country you are looking for a partner. I find this highly respect less to waste peoples time like that. Not all people outside the USA are scammers. Also the men who had taken the time to write to me, will never be able to get a decent answer, and may wrongly assume I did not care. The OUR TIME website gains from all these ‘inactive’ profiles though, as they can advertise that they are much bigger then they actually are. I will NOT recommend this dating site.

I’ve had a really great experience with this site. I signed up on a Friday by Saturday night I had received over 100 either flirts or messages from women that wanted to meet me. Most were local. I narrowed it down to 4. On Sunday I had dinner with the first. Vet nice and attractive but not for me. Monday I had coffee with the second, again very attractive and also one I wanted to continue taking to. Tuesday I had a long phone conversation with the third. We seemed to have a lot in common and shared a similar sense of humor and laughs all night as we talked. We met Wednesday and ask I can say is WOW! The comfort level with each other was amazing. Conversation was just like on the phone. I ended up canceling my fourth date and hid my profile from being viewed. We’ve had several dates and continue to talk daily. I just removed my profile completely as I think I found exactly who I was looking for.
I read a lot of bad reviews but they seem to be from people not familiar with navigating web sites.

I read several reviews from ladies who said they had been asked for money. I have had three separate “gentlemen” send friends requests via Facebook. Each has found me lovely, as beautiful inside a out (HA). Pictures are of very attractive, well educated men (All grads from Yale) One was even so silly as to send a picture of “TR” a model who is a frequent guest on Bare Foot Contessa. I immediately responded and told him how flattered I was that such a successful, handsome and well educated man was interested in me. I told him I was not one to let a good thing get away or let grass grow under my feet. Please send funds immediately for a first class, roundtrip ticket to London, to make reservations for me in a five star hotel and by the way I had a very sick mother who had mounting hospital bills. Needles to say, no further contact. At the moment I have a Friend request from a Yale graduate from Grand Prairie TX. I think I saw him on Dr. Phil. He had ripped some poor soul off of almost everything she had. Ladies, please be careful.

I have never subscribed to anything like this. The men who responded were from all over the country, I would want to correspond with someone locally. I want to cancel this but can’t find out how to do it. Sounds like it is difficult to cancel. Does anyone know how to get out of this?

I joined for a month and thought I would be off after I got in contact with someone I am interested in. If he wasn’t interested in me then I would get off. The problem is I think he isn’t a paid member. He keeps sending several flirts a day. Been doing that for several weeks. He is probably trying to see if I am a paid member. He was on here at 51 now he is 53. His profile reads I am 51 that is how I know. The site will have your correct age by your profile. I have the month to month plan. I have no problem with that. If you just read the fine print and this site it is written in pretty large letters. Then you wouldn’t be having these problems. There are fake profiles on okcupid, plenty of fish, and datehookup. A lot of scammers on all 3 of these sites. And all of these sites have the same thing, men looking for a one night stands. Especially pof. I hear if you want to get layed go to pof. There is a bunch of creeps on datehookup. And I have noticed the same people on the sites for several years. Which leads me to believe no one is finding anyone. The one thing I do notice about ourtime is less scammers and fake profiles. Those 3 sites I mentioned you can send messages and everything without paying, so hence scammers fakes. I have had a lot of men contacting me. Some I just talk to and tell them the truth, I am not interested but we are friends. I have looked at my competition and I will say that some of the women on here look down right scary. I even showed my son. They look crazy. I wouldn’t go out with them. And most of them are over weight and I think their older then what they say their age is. If not, the women sure age bad now days. So it isn’t just the men that look old on here. So what do you expect. Your not going to get a George Clooney or Brad on here. If there is one they are not going to contact you or me for that matter. It is what it is. It is a dating site. I keep hearing how you can go to the store etc and find someone. That is true. One of my friends just met someone at a store. Dated him for about 2 weeks until she found out he just wanted sex and someone to take care of him. So that isn’t a 100%. People think when they first get on dating sites they should find someone immediately. You have to weed through the bad ones. I got on pof and was on there maybe 2 months and met a guy. Went with him 15 months. Nice man but cant let go of the apron strings with his 2 boys in their late 20’s . And I think that is a problem for men and women on here. Dealing with someone that wont let go of the apron strings. At our age what do you expect. You pray you don’t get a drug addict serial killer, gambler, sex addict, etc. There is all kinds of people in this world. Just don’t give up and weed through the bad ones. And read the fine print before you agree. Like I said, the only problem I have with this site is I do not know who is a paid member unless they send a message. You could send a flirt to someone and if he isn’t a member then he wont know you sent it. That is the only complaint I have. And I called customer service about something not my bill and I had no problem. Good luck to all!

This is quite possibly the WORST site out there for dating, and ABSOLUTELY no one is monitoring the creeps on there. If you are marketing to “seniors,” you owe them a well-monitored site and this isn’t it.
I’ve deleted my profile numerous times, but it never f*cking deletes.
Most of the men are too stupid to do anything besides click on “like” on a photo. Then they complain about a woman not being 100% positive, but they’re too lazy to do a damn thing.
MOST of them are too lazy to be there in the first place, they should go get their incontinence pants on and a nurse rather than trying to find a girlfriend.
Our Time should be embarrassed at how low level they are.
Is it possible to give less than a star?

Am rather easy going, and can always see both sides of a situation (especially since I used to run customer service at a large company). So in March, when I had a question for ourtime.com and they said they fixed it, I assumed they did so. Now months later, when I signed up again, I noticed they didn’t make the change and when I called they basically said I was SOL, tough, too bad, you paid, we have your money, now go away. And that isn’t much of an exaggeration. Horrible, rude customer service that is obviously scripted. Will be using other dating services and cross my fingers they’re better than ourtime.com, can’t be much worse!!!
Jerry says
Cannot recommend OurTime especially for women. The majority of members do not seem to be paid subscribers so they cannot respond to your emails but you have no way of knowing so. The search feature is very limited. You can only search by age or distance or newest members.
Brigitte says
Terrible site. My account was hacked twice. Opened it one day and profile had been rewritten and all new photos. Not me! Contacted customer service and they shut down account immediately. But it happened again. I cancelled my credit card so that cannot renew automatically. Apparently they do not read anyone’s request not to renew. Many matches are repeats even after blocking. You respond. To a flirt or email and nothing. Done. I deactivated my account after 2 months. No refund but lesson learned. Stay away from this site. Too many problems and all these reviews are the same. I’ll take my chances at the grocery store!!
lorrie B says
Total RIPOFF….RUN…RUN…RUN….I tried to sign up for one month and got charged for 6 months. I called customer service and they refused to refund my money. Some guys on here are aggressive and get angry when you politely turn them down. They extended my search to areas several miles from the area I had requested. Matches referred did not come even close to what i had requested. I was specific about dating guys within Ontario. I am blessed and do look a lot younger than my age – no greys, wrinkles or cellulite, and the creeps whom I encountered briefly, all requested that They come to my house after a glass of gingerale (I do not drink alcohol) and a cheap meal. I left without even a glass of water during one of the encounters – he looked like his grand father in person….I am so happy to be off this site
Wes Postlethwaite says
Terrible site. Customer service people are RUDE, COMBATIVE and talk over you. When you sign up there is only a 6 month option, but they say there is a one month option, but they will not credit you for the billing error.

So he did. We got to know each other and talked afterwards on yahoo, turns out he is gay. What a waste of time.
Cynthia says
DO NOT JOIN this service. It provides inaccurate information, lies, notifies you of responses to emails you have not sent, sends you “matches” that are not even remotely consistent with your parameters, notifies you of comments that do not exist, changes the date of “views” to current day no matter when the view occurrs and notifies you that it is new, so you cannot tell. I wrote to complain about these issues, received an unsatisfactory response. I called, and was hung up on. I do NOT recommend this service in any way. Do not join.

This the worst daing site on the planet. I think its a scam. I booked one month and they charged me a four dollars additional activation fee. It gets word when I click on the icon account nothing works. Also I can send or receive emails from anyone. I have tried to contact the rip off scam artist several times. They just send some form letter stating how to click on your account. Idiots the account button does not work. They are horrible never join this site . It does not even deserve one star.

Logged on, created profile, looked at what was on site for a few days, considering signing up. Hadn’t read any Blogs. Plenty of woman supposedly in my area, several I have seen on other sites, many with profiles not filled out. Received a couple “someone has viewed you”. Seems like same scams as other sites. Send you things like someone is interested, you have messages, etc. Bottom line is I started receiving numerous emails for sexual encounters, they are blocked as spam but have to delete on a daily or a couple times a day basis. Still receiving them after removing my profile. Fortunately never uploaded pictures, haven’t checked to make sure profile is deleted. Had a good experience on Eharmony but that was several years ago, based on the blogs they now have issues. Maybe need to start bumping shopping carts in stores to find a date.

This site is a disaster, they charged my credit card more than I was told it would be, they showed me one amount and at the end of the transaction they did not showed me how much they have charged, they redirect me back to the home page. I was looking all over for my account to see how much they have charged my card. I only want one month membership to try it but in the process they show you other options “to make you save money” so they offer me 3 months for 62.99 and I though it was a good deal compare with the 29.99 I was paying for one month. but when I checked my credit card they charged me 72.96 dollars I try to contacted them like 4 times, to customer service, asking them why they charged me more than I was told and never got any answer is like they do not care about their clients complaints. this web site sucks they steal money from people and when you want to know why? they don`t even bother to answer you. I would not recommend this site to nobody, be careful with your money people. And reading others comments now I know I have to changed my credit card numbers before they charged me again, even I already turn off the auto renewal I do not trust this people they have a dishonest way to do business and treating the customers. shame to this site.

I’m done with this site. Today I logged on and that’s another problem as I have to sign in regularly even though I have the keep me logged in option checked. Try contacting them, forget about it, no response. Trying to delete some messages and an ad covers the delete spot. Really this ourtime is a joke.

You know the saying you get what you pay for. This sight is ridicules. Where in my profile did I say I was looking for an interracial relationship? Where in my profile did I say I’m willing to relocate. That your sending me men from out of state.I put the age group I’m interested in 68-75, and the age is changed everytime I go online & I’m not changing it, to 58-68. What is wrong with you people. You say I get 5 new matches everyday I don’t I receive the same people all the time that I have deleted they just keep on popping up.Do not renew this so called membership or bill me for paying to see my so called matches.I will call my cedit card company to make sure you don’t charge me for anything it is a waste of my hard earned money. If I see any charges on my credit card I will contact the better business bureau, & lawyer up.

I recently learned that my ex-wife has cancer and, because I’d gotten involved with her care, I would be unable to date for now. So I planned to end my Ourtime membership, which I thought was for 6 months, and checked my account info on June 28th.
I was surprised to see my membership was scheduled to end on December 28 and since there hadn’t been any charges to my bank account, I assumed I was mistaken and had originally signed up for a year. I still planned to quit the site, but with lots of membership time left, there was no big rush to contact Ourtime about it.
On July 1 at 9:35am, I replied thru the site to a woman who had emailed me, telling her I’d be ending my membership due to personal reasons, just to be considerate and not waste her time.
After that, a routine check of my bank account balance revealed a new $80 membership extension charge from Ourtime on June 30th. In an unfortunate coincidence, I had checked my OT account on the exact day they automatically extended me but the fee had not yet shown in my bank balance.
At 10:30am on July 1, I emailed Ourtime to ask for a refund over this unfortunate mix of confusion, coincidence and bad luck. They said that, since there was use on the account (the courtesy email sent less than an hour before I learned of the renewal) they would not grant me a refund.
I spoke to four people, two of them supervisors, and they could see my “usage” email saying I’d be leaving the site due to personal issues, but they would not grant me an exception to their no refund policy.
Ourtime needs to be human sometimes and not just about the money. Their policy should have been flexible in my case, but they steadfastly refused me a refund in two phonecalls after their initial non-reply to my email. I say avoid them.

This review is only my personal opinion based on my experience. In addition, please don’t label me as “arrogant” or “hard to please” or “snooty” — I’m an authentic, down-to-earth, caring, and tolerant person; I’m just stating what I discovered on this site. With these disclaimers out of the way, I can share my disappointment in this site and the quality of the people who choose to engage on it. Firstly, I need to “set the stage.” I didn’t sign up for this site; a “well-meaning” friend did and pushed me into it. A dating site isn’t my “thing,” and so I wasn’t looking for someone. I ran into creepy guys who I had to block, found that many of the “Daily Matches” picked out for me were random and included many elements that I stated clearly in my profile that were “deal-breakers” for me — for example, I was up front about being a follower of Jesus and my “matches” claimed to be atheist, and I indicated that if someone didn’t post at least one recent photo, I wasn’t interested in chatting with him. I was sent several non-photo “matches.”
Additionally, few men on this site actually wrote anything on their profiles. I find it tedious to try to “pull” anything out of people online to learn more about him. This was a horrible experience! Granted, I’m not convinced this is a great way to meet friends, but, I feel this site is not a place to find quality people with whom I would want to spend time.

I enjoyed using this site until my account “went away” for no reason. There is no way to contact a customer service person without first paying $35. As I’m a paid up member, I think Our Time should not be charging me when they inadvertently remove my account.
And, since I cannot access my account, I cannot access any information about my account.
This is my first experience with this type problem as I’m usually pretty careful – I’m beginning to think it is a scheme after all.

Horrible. I know men shown on this site that are not members at all. And when I save a man as a favorite, they do not show up in my list of favorites, so I have to start all over every day. I wrote to their customer service, but did not get a response.
They need to delete the profiles of people that are not members: they are doing this on purpose and not even letting people delete their own profiles. They are making everyone that browses for free or joined part of their scam.
What the heck is the Better Business Bureau doing about fraudulent companies? (Nothing)

A lot of senior guys use these dating sites as they private sex site. They be on them trolling for sex…they aren’t really looking for the love of their life…some of them are lonely, haven’t been with a woman in years and they are as horny as hell…it’s really sad. So be careful…and which out for the games.
Ivy Leola says
I’ve noticed that most guys are on here looking for sex. They will write rosy profiles that say I’m looking for a serious relations, marriage, friend, or casual friend…don’t fall for the lies…a lot of them are liars, too. Look out for the games…I was talking to this guy and he asked if he could send me some pictures…gave him my Gmail email address…he sent me pictures of his bedroom…I got the message…and the guys that live out-of-state same thing…they are look for a hook-up, a weekend sleep over, a one-night-stand. I haven’t had any problems with billing…but the men on here are just interested in who they can sleep with…if you find a good one…count your blessings…beware!!
Ivy Leola says
A lot of guys on Ourtime.com are actually looking for whores, call girls, prostitutes’, somebody to sleep with. There are a lot of horny old men on this site. So ladies be careful…not all of them are looking for companions, marriage, or soul mate. All through their profile will say other wise…it really all about sex.

If you read most of the negative reviews on this site, you will realize that most of the problems were caused by the people themselves.
I signed up for this site for one month and had no trouble with billing, understood the amount I was paying, and had no problem turning off the auto renew feature (they tell you that it will auto renew if you don’t).
In that one month that I signed up I met many women, went on a lot of dates, and finally met the woman of my dreams.
I am adding this review to let people know that there is nothing wrong with the site and the reviews found here are not a representative sample of people’s experiences.

I find this is wrong. if this web site is so good how come they don’t show any phone number if you have a problem. Seems to me they have something to hide. There should be a grace period of at least 24 hours. Any ideas from anyone would be appreciated.
Barbara Balogh says
On April 19, 2014, I joined this site for ONE month. On May 25 I was on my credit card site checking my transactions, at which time I saw a charge of $23.99 from Our Time, and I was stunned. Today, May 26, I called Customer Service and was told that the subscription automatically renews, something that was not told to me when I joined. I was told that there are no refunds, and that I had also used the site beyond the month. Ok, if I did use the site beyond the month it was only a few days because I had not noted the actual end date on my calendar. If you do the calculations, even with that in mind, it’s less than ONE WEEK after this time that I was on the site. Therefore, Our Time needs to prorate the days I actually used it. Yesterday, May 25, I was ONLY on the site to try to notify billing of the problem, NOT to communicate with anyone.
I informed the first customer service person that I have over $600 medical bills and cannot afford another month. She was extremely rude and kept talking while I was talking. Is this any way to represent customer service? Do you people not know what CUSTOMER SERVICE means? It means listening and trying to resolve problems a customer has, not be insolent to the customer.
I demanded to speak to a supervisor, and guess what? He did the same thing!! BUT, he NOT ONLY talked while I did, he hung up on me!
I would never, ever recommend Our Time to any of my friends, and I will actually go everywhere I can to tell people NOT to ever consider your site. AND, I will report Our Time to the FCC as well.

Thank you everyone who wrote those informative reviews of this horrible site. I spent hours carefully constructing a profile. After logging off I tried to sign in again and was told my email address or password (the message didn’t say which) was invalid. I clicked on the button that said “Forgot Password?” and entered my email address. All I got was an advertisement for their website and no hint regarding how to access my newly-created profile. Figuring my profile had been lost, I went back to the web site and started from scratch. When I tried to enter my user name and password, I got a message that my user name is already in use, so they do have my profile. They just won’t let me have access to it. Thank heaven I never gave them any credit card information and never downloaded any pictures! If they were planning on screwing me over, they should have at least waited until I was a few steps further along in the process. Thanks to their incompetently constructed web site and other user’s reviews, I have just been saved from wasting more time and money as well. Our Time? What a waste of time!

I was on ourtime for a few weeks when I met this man. He sounded nice so we met at Starbucks. He said he didnt’ drink coffee but wanted to meet me. I didn’t hear from him the following week so I asked him if he wasn’t doing anything if he wanted to grab a bite to eat. I texted him on Thursday morning but when I didn’t hear from him by Friday afternoon I asked if he received my text. He said he did but didn’t have time to respond yet I saw him on Ourtime the entire day. He finally agreed to meet but didn’t confirm the time until the next morning (the morning of the date) I get there on time and he’s not there. 15 minutes later he shows up and said he was going to text me but he didn’t. After dinner it was still early but he didn’t offer to do anything else. I blew him off because I didn’t think he was interested. I emailed him and told him I didn’t think he was interested. He tried to reverse it and pin it on me! He’s still on ourtime just trolling the site. I am non renewing when my month is up. I hope I don’t run into the problems many of you have had.

Ourtime is a bit of a scam. I foolishly went into this online dating scene very naive. Met what I thought was a great guy, who turned out to be a con man liar and cheater….found him on liarscheatersrus.com way too late in the game so everyone once you get the first/last name of a potential date, go to the other site and see if they are on it. I found my boyfriend of 5 months there with 20 comments from girls he was currently also dating, and from all his ex wives. If I could get a refund for signing up to OT I would, but instead will just hide my profile til it runs out.

I am not a member of OurTime and these reviews have saved me from joining. I write to suggest that if the lack of customer service is an issue, perhaps one might want to start at the top.
Online dating is big business. OurTime.com is part of PeopleMedia (a Match.com affiliate). PeopleMedia in turn is part of a much larger corporation called IAC/InterActiveCorp. IAC has over 150 websites. It is a publicly traded NASDAQ stock. The former CEO (but still chairman) is media mogul Barry Diller. Mr. Diller started Fox Broadcasting Network. He used to be CEO of Paramount Pictures. He is also chairman of Expedia.
Below is a link to IAC’s website. They proudly display their leadership, management and directors on this page:
https://iac.com/about/leadership
Barry Diller is chairman of IAC. Gregg Blatt is chairman of the Match Group. (he is also IAC’s current CEO) Sam Yagan is the CEO of the Match Group. Amarnath Thombre is the President of Match, North America. PeopleMedia / OurTime operates under these umbrella corporations.
These are real people, with staff. Perhaps they can be reached, like any other person in business, and may be able to assist OurTime customers.
Hope this helps.

Don’t bother signing up? How about never going online to meet people! These sites are filled with Scammers! I bailed after a horrifying two weeks on My Time! Having a man send a portrait of himself with a big truck and an even bigger gun was horrifying! So was the gobbledygook in his e-mail which was a complete Mind Meltdown. He was the big bearded guy who rode a Harley. Then there was the time I was scammed on CM via Yahoo Chat. Some thug sent me a photograph of Dead Babies! We’re not talking fetuses . Real Dead Babies! Something needs to be done to Police all dating websites!
Losing money was bad enough! Losing your sense of well being is worse ! Dating should be a fun time , hopeful, and joyous in starting a new relationship! Go to local activities to meet someone real ! I will never do online dating again! No stars received here ! Please Play it safe at all costs!

The worst experience with any online company I’ve ever done business with, no matter what category. I knew going in that it didn’t have a great reputation but thought it was worth a try. I paid way more than I expected to up front and cancelled within TWO days because of mean-spirited emails and responses from “men” who I am quite sure don’t exist. STAY AWAY!!!

Ok I have never been treated so poorly by a Company in all my life. I, too, have been suckered. This site is not free. I created a profile one day. Could not see anything. The next day I subscribe to get a feel for it thinking I am paying $13.99! I was charged $87! This is not what I signed up for. The site is not user friendly. The offer said 6 months at $13.99. It says nothing about charging you the full 6 months! I thought the $13.99 would be a reoccurring charge monthly with the opportunity to cancel at any time. I’ve called and the C/S rep did not want to help and the manager did not want to either. Poor poor handling of clients. Do not join! I, too, will dispute the charges.

I wish I saw this site before giving ourtime.com my credit card information. I assisted my mother in creating a profile, once her profile was complete we began to search for men in our region. Once we found someone who seemed interesting, she wrote a two sentence message, clicked send and was suddenly prompted to purchase a subscription. The options seemed to be affordable and I selected the $13.99 option, completely overlooking the fine print stating a minimum of six months must be purchased. I entered my card number and immediately received a payment receipt confirmation — not a summary before submitting payment, conveniently — and I was horrified by the $84 charge. I immediately began searching for a phone number, I wanted a refund. I felt completely misled. After searching the site, I only found an option to send an e-mail which I did, but still have not received a reply. While waiting for an email response, and searching again for a phone number, I discovered that my credit card was saved for automatic billing. I quickly changed the setting, which led to a confirmation email that contained a phone number. I called and spoke to a gentleman who told me a refund was out of the question because I had “usage” on my account. That’s impossible! I didn’t touch the site, aside for frantically searching for a customer service number. How could there possibly be usage. He proceeded to tell me a message had been sent. What message? The message I sent to their customer service address? Or perhaps the original two sentence message that prompted subscription was sent once they had my credit card payment, conveniently. I asked to speak to a supervisor, since I was getting zero help or support from guy #1. He tells me all supervisors are busy, but they could call me back. I said I could hold until they were available and he said he is not allowed to keep me on the line. I give my contact info and wait for a call back. Guy #2 calls only to continue with the same refusal due to “usage” on my account. I asked for a middle ground compromise. Nope. Cant do that either because it would be considered a refund if I only paid for one month. I’ll dispute the charge with my credit card co, but I have to wait for the pending charge to post to my account before I can dispute it. I’m amazed this company is allowed to be in business. They must have good lawyers. Beware! Stick to plenty of fish or cupid, stay away from ourtime.com.

What a rip off !! I joined the site for my mother, and when it was time to renew she didn’t want to continue. My credit card on file had expired, and the site flashed big letters every time we went online that I had to update the information or the account would close. Since Mom didn’t want to continue, I thought the account would close due to a expired credit card. NOT – they say their terms of use allow them to update expiration dates on their own and charge the card anyway. When I called to complain/close and get a refund they say no refunds – and if they can get a charge to go through it’s their right. Bad business. When I told the man I was going to start telling everyone about this cheating he told me to “GO AHEAD” – Stay off the site and guard your credit card !!!

I purchased one month and am going to call my bank to make sure they don’t charge me again..got a cute pic of a guy delivered to me after just registering for free. Emailed him but my email wouldn’t go through until i PAID. So, I paid, the email went, he wrote back and i went to write him back and he’s UNAVAILABLE! He ‘could be a success story’..or could have done something that Our Time says is not acceptable. Please! He was a bait photo and I can’t believe I fell for this. They really ought to be investigated–I thought the site was legit and it’s really not. I’m supremely embarrassed and mad at myself…so sad.

I actually liked the site. Lot of local ladies. Unfortunately their expectations are high lol. Im not Brad Pitt or a Kennedy.
I got caught up in the company’s up front purchase scam. I clearly picked the $23.99 per month plan so I can cancel when I want. They charged me 6 months up front for $95! I got no response after several attempts so I challenged the credit card & will have no further business with them. Clowns. If you want to pay it up front as per the bargain plan, then your good….Brad! I wasn’t looking for anything serious so I got no where. Don’t know why it’s called dating when most successful attractive woman want to get married. Good luck. Get a cat.

Wow! I echo so much of what was stated here. My experience at OT has been horrible. I tried to limit my searches geographically. I live in Hawaii and I got responses from as far away as Montreal!! Ludicrous. I, too, came across scammers. One photo of a great looking guy looked like it had been captured from a surveillance camera! Who do they think they’re kidding?! Finally men here- one was just creepy & didn’t know how to talk to women and the other admitted that he was a former drug dealer! In terms of the money, yes I finally figured out how to get my account off of automatic renewal. Hallelujah. In case you’re wondering, I’m a petite blonde – cute with a master’s degree. The guys? Not so much. I’ll end on a positive note. I did finally meet a nice man right before I left the site. He just doesn’t believe in marriage & I do. Ah well ..I wish all of you out there only the best

There were all these flirts and messages before I signed up and suddenly there were 1/2 the number of message and most from people with no picture (fake) and no flirts. What a scam/ruse!

I Would not recommend Our Time either. When I did a search, A screen showed up that indicate there was a special offer of $6.00 per month for the first six months. I do not use my card on line so their link indicates that a payment can be mailed in which I did. After they received my money order. After a few days I saw at the bottom of the screen that in 45 days my account would have expired. I contacted them because I thought it was an error. They indicates that because the payment was mailed in it did not quality for the six months special deal. NO PLACE ON THE SITE DID IT INDICATE THAT AND I EVEN READ THE SMALL PRINT. I too told them to just cancel my account and give me a refund which they indicate they cannot do. I believe this site is a scam and will use your account (credit card) just to take your money. what difference does a check, credit card, or money order makes, it is the same amount of money they only in a different form. or rather a form in which they cannot just take your money from. they also indicates click on this or that link and when do so you get no action. I DO NOT APPROVE OUR TIME.

Stay away from this site. A free membership will get you nowhere and the special 50% off for a 1 month upgrade to regular membership is a SCAM. If you take the offer at $12.95 for a month, your credit card will be charged for 6 months / $45.96 !!!

I’m 62 years old which seems to be a “past your expiration date” for online romance. I went on a meet and greet with 5 different men. 4 from Match.com and one from Plenty of Fish. They ranged in age from 62-70. My default picture is very recent but I got the feeling that except for the 70 year old, the other men thought I was too old once they met me and they were the ones who initiated contact. I’m not looking for a long term relationship so I was not really disappointed. The men I met were all reasonably attractive, polite, and I had a nice time. I thought I would try Our Time. I too signed up for one month and was billed for 6 months. However, I called and talked to a customer service rep who was helpful and I got a $46 refund 2 days later. I agree that the type of men that contact me all seem to be down on their luck, have blurry pictures, and are not dating material. Some repeatedly message me, before I get a chance to respond. One guy even told me I was a “fake” profile. I tried OKCupid which is a pretty cool site, but they ask about 700 questions, many of a sexual nature so I deleted my profile quickly. I was only getting responses from out of state and younger horny men anyway.

The website overall is not too bad – although it really doesn’t seem to do much to try and match clients up with any degree of compatibility in mind beyond a few simple choices. The customer service to terrible. On several occasion during the two months I tried the site I had problems/questions and sent a message to customer service for assistance (no phone numbers were provided for that, as far as I was able to see). I never received any response from anyone. Save your money. Go to a reputable dating site, if any really exist.

I have had nothing but trouble with these morons since opening my account. Twice before, they had arbitrarily deleted my entire profile and I lost every contact I had made as well as the personal and important on-going conversation(s) I had been having with a couple of select members. These were irrecoverable as was my contact list and any and all other information such as those members who had an interest in me, who had viewed my profile, any “flirts”….essentially everything. “Our Time” took no responsibility and made no effort to remedy the situation nor offer any attempt to make amends. The have ZERO Customer Service (I call it “Customer DIS-service” as it is only a on-line clunky (primarily useless) interface, very probably located in some third worlds country, that consists of a stack of pre-programmed servers that can only respond with “canned” replies that inform you only of what you already know, or with a lot of “information” that has nothing to do with your issue. You cannot speak with a person as they have no telephone number listed. I am convinced that the Better Business Bureau logo displayed on their Membership Payment page is pirated and they have no connection with that organization. Yesterday, I logged on as normal to check for any messages (I had been in regular (once a day or more) contact with one girl. This afternoon I tried to log in only to be notified in red boxes and letters that my “account was hidden”. I have never once hidden my OurTime account….I’m never had a need, and truthfully wouldn’t even know how without researching it (honestly…I didn’t eveb know I could!). Once I got past that screen (I had to click a bod that said something about “unhiding” my account I quickly learned that all of my profile had been wiped clean…AGAIN. Everything was gone…contacts, messages, favorites, view history, photos….EVERYTHING WAS GONE. Now I can’t even talk to the girl I had been in frequent contact with for some time. When I tried to get into my account I was taken to the Membership Payment page and asked to give them more money. I purchased a 6 month Membership in September of 2013 (my bank statement proves it). My Account was terminated and erased (AGAIN) by “Our Time” (even though the user agreement clearly states that your account will be automatically renewed) sometime between the evening of 30 January 2014 and 2:30PM on 31 January 2014, without ANY notice. You might also note the dates. I payed for a 6 month membership on 20 September of 2013 (again, my bank statement validates this as fact)…yet my account was terminated and erased 31 January of 2014. That is not 6 months. My calculation says that my account was in good standing until 19 March of 2014….unless my calculation is poor. DO NOT BE FOOLISH ENOUGH TO DO BUSINESS WITH THESE INCOMPETENTS, AND CROOKS. DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOR AND DO NOT GIVE THEM A CENT! JUST STAY CLEAR. There are other, better, dating sites available, one being “Plenty of Fish” (also known as POF, or PoF). It is 100% free…NO fees to join or contact other members. They do have a Gold level for a small fee that allows a few special features, but, they’re not necessary at all. You can open an account and freely send and receive messages and meet people. The search filters are excellent so you can narrow down your search criteria…and NO, I do not work for, nor am I in any way connected with “Plenty of Fish”. I did have an account there….now I think I’m going back. I’m not done with “Our Time” yet…I have ways of getting even with those bastards. The internet can be an immensely powerful tool of retribution if applied correctly….even for “the little guy”…

I’ve only been on our time for a few days. I’ve observed that the most unattractive, socially backward of men sign up. Most of them look like they need a bath and shave (what’s with the Duck Dynasty look)? There are also alot of men that think you are attractive but they are 100s or 1000s of miles away so forget about it. It’s either this or they are 20 plus years older than you which isn’t a turn on. The only two that I liked before I posted a picture, (thought they were attractive and well kept), don’t really like to reply and I’m old fashioned and like to have a man show some initiative to get a date or even talk over the phone. I don’t see it happening at this site. I really don’t know what the solution to it is.

I saw an advertisement on TV for “Our Time” and decided to browse the site. Since they claim that you can browse for free, I submitted my email address, preferences, photos, etc.
The next time I visited the site to browse, I was perplexed that at the bottom of the page it had my credit card information that I never gave to them. I had no intention to join “Our Time” at this time. I clicked on the continue button to further browsed. Instead of the site showing me more pictures/profiles, a screen popped up showing that I had charged $87.96 for a 6-month subscription. There was no button on the site to SUBMIT, APPROVE or CANCEL so I don’t know how or why I was charged. They just take your money and charge you the highest price.
Right away, I went to the site’s help button and sent a message stating the above-mentioned and reported same to my credit card company within 10 minutes of this charge taking place. As I was talking to the credit card rep, the charge came up on my account. I informed the rep that I was disputing this charge that I did not authorized the charge. The rep made the dispute notation in my account. Also, I made sure that I did not use the “Our Time” site for the upgraded privileges.
In regards to the message that I sent “Our Time”, they replied that this charge was a new upgrade and my credit card info would have had to be entered in order for us to process this charge. This is really what convinced me that what they are doing to folks is fraudulent and this site is only about the money. I did not enter or give them my credit card information; you see they lie also.
I was so upset that I searched around and spoke to others about it. I found out that if you belong to another dating on-line site, “Our Time” gets your credit card info from their partnering dating sites. That is how they got my info.
I called “Our Time” Customer Care @ 1-866-727-8920 and informed the rep that I am requesting all of my money back since there is no usage on my account and I did not authorized the fraudulent charge. I was asked if I would be satisfied if they offer me another month (7 months instead of 6 months for $87.96). I told the rep, “Thank you but no thank you; the fraudulent activity that you did with my credit card and the lie you told about getting my credit card information, I feel very uncomfortable doing business with “Our Time”. I have no trust in the company and not want any of my info on your site.” I could tell that she was not pleased that I did not accept her offer. I asked to speak with her supervisor. I was put on hold for awhile. Then another person, claiming to be the supervisor came on the line with an unfriendly attitude. I asked him his name; it was a little difficult to understand him; however, it sound like he said his name was Diomera. With the attitude, he informed me since I did not use the account at all, he can refund me my money back except the $3.99 processing fee. I almost said okay but something told me to let them know that I am also seeking the $3.99 since I did not authorized the charge at all and that it was fraud on their part.
From reading the reviews on “Our Time”, I noticed that many others are having the same problem. “Our Time” is making money by doing fraudulent charges. They know that many people, especially seniors are not going to take the time to dispute the charge and to avoid stress they will just let it go. If “Our Time” refuses a hundred people their $3.99 processing fee, do you know how much they make by just misrepresenting your account and you receive nothing for it.
Yes, I have to agree, “Our Time” will rip you off if you don’t pay attention. So far, I have not had this problem with other sites. “Our Time” will rip “Your Time”.

I joined this site for two days before meeting a man who I later found out was a serial arsonist and has spent time in prison. Other than arson he was also charged with threatening city and state officials (Prosecutor and arresting officer and Judge) Sending them valentine cards saying he was having them followed, their e-mails were being read and their phones tapped. They had video recording of him buying the cards. Then when he appeared in court for his hearing the Judge would not give him an bail because he said letting him out before the trail was dangerous to the lives of the witnesses, and that he was mentally unstable. One of the arsons was a place were two people were inside sleeping. they barely made it out. When I asked for a refund because of these special circumstances they refused. Come to find out I was speaking to someone in Porto Rico. He is also accused of ripping several people off, and not for small amounts. One for 80,000., one for $6000. and get this- one fore $107,000,000.
He has judgments against him for 1.2 million. I could go in for an hour with the things I found out about this man. I had an investigation done on him and it was very scary. Now, the man knows where I am and he is also known for threatening anyone he has had any kind of contact with. He comes from a very wealthy background and has the money to get around. Be careful of this dating site. Be very careful.

Don’t join this site, they are nothing but a rip off. They hide the fact that when you join you are on an automatic renewal, but you think you have only signed up for one month trial. Next thing you know they have your credit card information and make automatic charge to it without you even being aware that they are going to do that. They throw a huge disclaimer at you to read before you sign up and apparently have the information hidden in it which they are sure you will miss until after you have already been charged a ridiculous membership fee.

I have been on for about six weeks now and my profile is honest, sincere and contains recent photos. I have received probably two hundred views (and many flirts and photo “likes”). Many of these (I believe) are from well meaning and legitimate ladies, but just not what I’m looking for. Most of the profiles I’ve perused seem genuine and I don’t respond to anyone with no picture(s) or descriptions. I have e-mailed only a select few (most locally but some long distance) with a polite, complimentary message when their profile/pictures spark interest, but have received maybe only two or three replies. I’m finally realizing the gun shyness is probably due to too many sleazy predators making unwelcome overtures or sending inappropriate pictures, but that now stigmatizes those of us who ARE legitimate and sincere. The only faults I find with the site are the inability to filter searches with more precision (like non-smokers and no pets–big dealbreakers for me), and the matchmaking program is totally inconsistent. I have yet to go on a date via this site and will probably opt for POF or another site when my subsctiption expires….

The layout of the site itself is satisfactory and I have no complaints about it. The women profiled seem reasonable and quite normal. Many had similar sayings in their profiles but that is to be expected. As a man I will say that my experience on this site was probably pretty typical. By that I mean I wrote many E-mails to ladies, wrote them carefully and sincerely, and got just a few responses. The responses I did receive tended to be brief and basic. Why is this so? I believe that internet dating, and OURTIME is no exception, is very favorable towards women for the logical reason that there are many more men on the site than women. Ladies, even very average in appearance learn that they are in control of this situation. They make demands and have many men to choose from. Some may enjoy the process of rejecting men or thinking that they should settle for nothing but the elite. Many women are easily influenced by the perceived wealth and alpha importance of men.
OURTIME did not particularly work well for me and I would not put much faith in it if you are male. You may be successful but it does not work as logically as you may think it would..

Like many people here, I wish I had read these reviews before subscribing for one month. I happened to be checking my credit card activity online and found they had automatically renewed my account. I had specifically deactivated “auto-renew” as soon as I’d signed up as I knew this could be a problem. I immediately disputed the charge through my bank. Although they credited the renewal charge, they then DEACTIVATED my account even though I had two weeks remaining from my original subscription. What has ensued is an ongoing battle via email. I even took the time to CALL Customer Care as they suggested and after being on hold for FORTY minutes, I hung up in disgust and sent another email. Bottom line, they refuse to issue a refund after essentially cheating me out of 50% of my subscription and causing me to have to remove an unauthorized charge to my account. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

One of the worst sites and services I ever used. Everything is clumsy and unreliable, when the button that a person N is online is invitingly blinking and you send a message, you will instantly see a warning in the very chat window that the person is offline. When someone views your profile, you need to bend over to even see a photo of that person. The site claims to target mature people but it is childish by design and greedy.
Every feature of the site serves the purpose of dragging you into paid subscription. Be very careful with it, they are dishonest, too: I made sure to specifically pay for a one month subscription but they continued charging me for half a year without any notifications. I removed my account when I discovered it.
Won’t recommend the site to anyone.

The site is full of those flirt and like your photo buttons which I abhor. There is no indication if the person is an active member. If you are a “free” member you cannot contact anyone or see a photo, not even on a trial basis to see if the site works. Once you fill out a profile, if anyone visits on any level you get an automatic email. After it shows a hundred emails that you haven’t read and you do join for any length of time for curiosity’s sake you find there aren’t many if any real keystrokes typed by members. Just “I like your photo,” a “flirt” kind of things. Then even if you do select no auto-renew you WILL BE renewed. But there is hope! If you call and ask for a refund TWICE they will pro-rate from the day you call even if it took a few days to get a response and a contact number from at least two emails. Be diligent. It is possible to get a refund from this company.

I wanted a one month subscription to Our Time. I clicked the “one month”, with a price of, I believe, $27.99.
But I was charged for $87.93.
I’ve contacted my financial institution and am going to submit paperwork regarding a Disputed Transaction Merchandise Not as Described/Defective (this was the suggestion of my banker).
I am disabled and cannot afford to spend $87.93 for a dating site. I’m so angry with myself for thinking my experience would be different; I did have a good experience some time ago but I realized that this was after a “trial” period…and that made all the difference. If anyone has suggestions please help me. Thanks.

Ourtime is awful. You read someone’s profile & Ourtime sends out an email telling that person you are interested. NOT!! Men received “flirts” from me…when I never sent any. It is very deceiving to the members. Playing Cupid should not be Ourtimes job. The site SUCKS. The only way to not be charged or automatically renewed is to dispute with your credit card company. I’m sure they have received so many complaints that they will automatically block any extra fees or renewals.I ONLY WISH I HAD READ MORE REVIEWS BEFORE SIGNING UP!!! Do yourself a favor & do not use OURTIME

After reading all the reviews posted so far, I am glad to see that I am not alone in my major disappointment with Our Time. I joined the site at the suggestion of my daughter and for the first couple of weeks, it was interesting to peruse through all of the profiles. It wasn’t difficult to be somewhat optimistic about finding a compatible partner. That optimism quickly turned to frustration, disappointment, and futility as I uncovered the following issues: 1) Most of the men’s profiles I viewed were poorly written (so many of them can’t spell), or virtually blank (no info provided) so I could not possibly determine if we could be a match; 2) No photos posted or photos were very outdated, taken with a hat and sunglasses on (how can you get an idea of what someone looks like with sunglasses and a hat on?), taken in t-shirts, tank tops, or (ugh!) shirtless; 3) The majority of any men that I did contact didn’t have the decency to respond; I can assume they were not interested, but I’m a big girl…I wouldn’t collapse in tears if they would have been kind enough to just tell me. However, it’s also possible that some men who still have profiles posted on the site are no longer active members and their profiles have not been hidden (you have to do this yourself when you don’t renew your membership otherwise your profile can still be viewed and people may attempt to contact you and you’ll never know)…this is a huge flaw that paying members are subjected to that is extremely unfair; 4) I know this one is subjective but I find that the majority of men are not physically appealing…this could be due to the poor quality of pictures they post (so many of them do not even smile!)….I don’t fault the website for this, it’s just been my experience; 5) I tend to get presented with the same daily matches over and over again (after I’ve already said “No” multiple times)….this is so frustrating that I contacted Our Time by email to complain. I got a “canned” response that was not at all helpful; 6) This one is probably the biggest issue I have with this process….the same men view my profile over and over and never attempt to contact me or even send a wink. I have no idea if they are interested or not…very frustrating!; 7) Finally, I get too many views from men who live too far away from me and/or are much younger than me…I don’t fault the website for this, either….just another frustration! At this point, I’ve pretty much given up on having any success with finding a partner on Our Time (for the record, I’m also a member of Match.com and eHarmony.com…neither of them is any better and, surprisingly enough, I see many of the same faces from Our Time!). I definitely DO NOT recommend Our Time or any dating website….their TV commercials are not at all representative of most people’s experiences. I won’t renew my membership on any of them.

I tried this site for a month with no auto renewal. I will check my credit card account after reading all the posts. Hopefully, they will leave me alone. Anyway, I was not impressed. I did get many flirts favs and messages. Daily acturally. However, the men were so much older and guys I would NEVER meet or date. Never again.

Ourtime is a scam. I have signed up for Ourtime for only I month with no added features making sure I went into accounts and checked NO AUTOMATIC renewal. Over the last year I have been on the site and off the site always for only 1 month. On October 28 my I month expired with a no automatic renewal. On November 7 they charged my credit card for a 6 month subscription with all the added features and I never applied for it nor accepted any promotion. I didn’t find out until I went in my account history after sending a message to someone and it went through on Nov. 16th I was surprised so I contacted Ourtime the same day but they are closed on Saturday. It was not an automatic renewal and they charged my account without my knowledge or acceptance. I spoke with Alex a representative and Amer a supervisor on Monday, Nov18th. They have refused to remove the charge to my credit when Ourtime with fraud charged my card. This is a dishonest company that charges your account without your knowledge or permission and then refuses to take the charges off once they have your credit card number. I have read about the dishonesty of Ourtime and now I am another participant that has experience a company that operates with no integrity. I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge.

I wanted to upgrade for only a month and I clicked on the 1 month subscription, when i got to the confirmation page, I saw a charge of $87.33,there was no way of backing out of that page and i clicked continue, and couldn’t find a way to “delete”, so I sent them a couple of emails and called them today. They won’t refund or credit my account! they said there is nothing they can do? THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN! They don’t even try to work with you, they say NO right away

This website is a big scam. I used it for month here and there. I been on it for a week because I had 6 messages sitting there so I decided to see what gives. Well, I replied back to 2 of the messages and flits. Guess what, the ladies had never viewed my profile or sent a message. I then tried a test and sent a message to a gal who “viewed” my profile 8 times and guess what, she had never seen my profile. OurTimes is creating this to get people to sign up and contiune their membership. It’s all about money, not your love life. OurTime is a scam, stay away…… Try POF, its OK……

Have been an active user for half year, met some people, and for that it’s “an ok” dating website.
What I don’t like the most about ourtime dating website is that they have a world wide known money fraud scammer’s. All the picture of those victims are used to get money from people. I personally had one asking me for money (pretending that he’s widowed and he’s left with son). I found his picture on this website
http://www.scamdigger.com/gallery/index.php/pictures-used-by-male-scammers
He’s name on ourtime is cute2luv20, and on the link that I attached he’s is on the 4th row of world wide known scammers. To be more correct (his picture) is involved in all types scam and money fraud.
I contacted ourtime dating website all they did they just sent me the link for dating tips. They never removed that guy profile, nor blocked him. I personally think THAT THEY ARE TAKING A CUT FROM ALL MONEY SCAMMERS- THAT’S WHY THEY ALLOW THEM THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sure am glad I found out about this scam. I had been trying to pay for a six month membership to Ourtime but my credit card was declined five times. Lucky for me I guess my bank has a fraud alert on my card and apparently that is what is triggering the declines. I tried contacting customer service and gave them all the details but it was clear that they were to lazy to read my email to them. I joined POF and hopefully that will do the trick.

This crooked website changes its “renewel” page every couple months. They have it so purposly deseptive that you cant figure out if your renewing or getting out! If you accidently click an arrow ( which doesnt say charging) and they charge you $80.00 you will NOT get a refund OR get any customer service. As matter of fact there is NO customer service number listed with them- big give away. Right now I’m battling with a $87.93 charge they took un authorized, AND you would think a threat of BBB and consumer conmplaints would fix it!! NO WAY… they dont care, and you WILL loose your money.

September 30, 2013.
I was on Seniorpeoplemeet and hated it. I am in my 60’s but look much younger (ya, we all say that) but I was getting emails from 70-80 year olds. I watched the site like a hawk and made sure they didn’t auto renew me. I then joined Match and liked it better but also thought I would check out Our Time. What a mistake. Most of the people I saw were already on Match so I TRIED TO CANCEL my free subscription. Followed all the instructions but couldn’t do it. It was impossible and since Our Time is connected with Seniorpeoplemeet…ALL my photos and credit card information was also transferred. How unprofessional. I couldn’t find a way to delete my total profile so I went back in and deleted all my photos and changed ALL the information including my email address. My new email address read imnotinterested.com and left the site. When I checked my real email, Our Time confirmed that all my changes had been successful!!!! and they had my real email address. Tomorrow I am cancelling my CC. Very poor ethics. I thought CC info would be more protected and now I am scared. Also, AlL of these sites are full of scammers so you have to be very careful. I was given phone numbers to call men and the area codes were New York and Oregon???? Also, they are filled with “no photo” match ups. Are you kidding me. It should be No Photo, No Profile but of course, they do not care, they want the money!!!!!! I had one guy send me photos which I recognized. They were of the famous base ball player Jose Consaco taken on the red carpet. Be Careful!!!!

I thought this might be a good site to join but I’m so glad I read these reviews. I’ve heard the same about other sites but thought this might be different. No way will I use this site!

I have a real “love/hate” relationship with this website. I actually found a wonderful woman using this site and I’m thankful for that, however the entire process was fairly painful. I paid the six month fee (unfortunately) and all I ever experienced with this website was trouble. The moderators of this website would unilaterally change or omit wording in my profile. I’m not sure where the website servers are located (likely in Texas, where their HQ is) but the performance of the website was horrible. Super slow load times, crashes, etc (and I can assure you it wasn’t a connection or equipment issue on my end).
This website has a decent business model, but very poor execution. Save your money – I would recommend Match.com, Zoosk.com, or even POF over this site. I also cancelled my subscription (with no refund of course) in advance of my termination date due to the fact OurTime will charge your credit card for additional usage, even if you have the automatic renewal feature de-activated (very shady). Stay away from this site …. simply not worth it.
Troy moody says
My 1 month I paid for was up yesterday the 12th so I hope u don’t try to keep charging me like u have others because I have talked to the better business bureau and they are ready to check into your company. So I ask u to be honest to save you the troubles.

I initially started on Our Time around the holidays of 2012. Had some hits but nothing interesting so I gave up cancelled my subscription and that was that. Just before Valentine’s day 2013 I decided to give the site one more chance. I had a hit the next day. We met after about 2 weeks of texting. Started are each other on a regular basis and we just got a place together. I have never be happier. He is a wonderful man, Loving, kind, family oriented and so much more. I am so very blessed and thankful for Our Time. Thank you so much. I wish everyone the best and hope you find the love of your life as I have.

I joined this site for 6 months and agree with all the above reviews. Was a big waste of money and time. Yes, the concept of having a dating site for the over 50 gang sounded quite nice to me, but all it did was bring my self esteem to a low point instead of making me feel good about myself. I too am a professional with attractive photos and a very nice well written profile I thought, but my experience on here was quite poor and sad. Yuk !! Waste of time folks !!…. Too bad….. My son actually made me join, and he too was sadly disappointed when I told him about my experience on the site. He thought he was doing me a favor !! lol…… Far from it folks.
Wayne says
Almost everyone’s review is spot on and I will add, besides deleting your pictures & profile when your subscription is near ending you block e mails from them AND notify your CC Co. to be watching for charges from the site, and start double checking your CC statement.
I was lucky, with 4 Mo’s left on my membership my new puppy used my wallet for a chew toy, so I ended up with a new CC #.
I read a few are giving up, I suggest trying “Plenty of Fish”
totally free, NO picked match’s, and you can still “search” while your profile is hid. One warning, where it asked for your e address either leave that blank or use an old or fake one. The number of spam’s greatly increases when I listed my e e address.

OMG, I was about ready to join because of the TV commercial. After reading these review,,,, NO WAY, thanks to all that wrote!! Really appreciate it 🙂

This site is the worst!!! The first day I was almost scammed by someone that stolen someone else’s identity. As soon as I caught on the persons profile was taken down by the scammer. I’m sure he’s using someone else’s identity now to do the same thing. Anyway, the first 2 days you get so many responses its ridiculous. After day 3 you get nothing. A few views by people that have no pictures. I guess those are the free members. Unfortunately there are way too many of those. This site is an absolute rip off. Save your money!!!

I only wish I had looked up the reviews of this website BEFORE I decided to join.
Unfortunately, I also fell into their money trap and got SCAMMED by these ppl in
the amount of $83!!! When I called to try to, nicely, get them to credit back a large
& costly amount that I did not have the money for, I was given instructions on
how to “redo” my profile to make myself sound more appealing! SERIOUSLY????
Needless to say, this group would not budge on making this right by crediting
me. What a HORRIBLE way of doing business!!!! They have got to know that
what they’re doing is so very wrong! With as many complaints as there are, I’m
not sure I understand why someone like the Better Business Bureau hasn’t
stepped in and shut them down! If I knew who to contact to get this done, I
wouldn’t hesitate for a minute!!!!! This sounds like lawsuit all over it!

I’m very driven to report my experience with OurTime. In a nutshell, stay away at all cost. Read on if you want to find out why.
I joined them last spring (2013). At first I thought they were okay. in fact, I did meet someone really special and suspended my account while exploring this new relationship. After a few months, we broke up and I reactivated my account. When I logged in, I was greeted with a “Welcome Back” banner. So far, so good.
Upon examining my profile I was aghast to discover numerous woman had been trying to contact me. I had emails coming in throughout the time my account was deactivated. As I’ve always done in the past, I went about responding to all the messages, no matter how old, explaining the situation. I try to treat people kindly and if someone takes the time to reach out to me, I always respond in kind.
Luckily, when I deactivated my account, I also set my account to not auto-renew. My account is only a few weeks from expiring and I’ll be curious to see if they in fact honor that. If not, there will a complaint filed with my state’s Attorney General.
Next, I went about perusing profiles of women in my area. I was startled to discover the profile of a dear friend who lives nearby. She’d been engaged and was I wondering if she and her beau had split. Nope, they’re still together. I sent her a screen capture of the profile and she said that was her profile from a site called MatchMaker and that her account with them had been closed for 1 1/2 years. Her profile on OurTime said she’d been active in the past week.
I’ve also had dialog with other women on OurTime who’ve had terrible experiences with the site. Renewals are made even when they request they not be. I’ve found their interface to be onerous and unintuitive. For reasons I can’t explain, women will get flirts from me when I didn’t send one.
All of this has combined to totally turn me off of OurTime. I’d highly encourage everyone to avoid this site.
Wayne says
I’m writing this and seeing “Feedback 36 positive and 1 Neg.” and thinking ALL I read were negative responses, all of which I agree with, They do not reply to complaints only send a form Ltr. saying if you want to cancel , call this #. When you call to complain the person starts data “mining” asking your home Add. Ph. # ect.ect. all this after I gave him my screen name.
Another PITA point is that put your picture /profile out there willy nilly. I receive messages and have people looking at my pictures that are located 700-800 miles from my location.
There “Do not Show” section is worthless ie, doesn’t work
When I complained about their pop up “asking if I wanted to spent $$ to see when someone read my message” ALWAYS being on my “home page” and why didn’t they honor the “DON’T SHOW MT THIS AGAIN” they locked the pop up so I see the same person and their request every time I log on.
Becki says
I totally agree with all the comments.. I am on a one month membership (hopefully)! this is ready to expire, and I haven’t met anyone or even got a match that is close to what I am looking for.. I am not loser , but a quality person who takes care of myself and has some pride in my appearance, and I was shocked with a lot of the profile pictures of the men that were sent to me, or who were looking at my profile .. sadly a lot of them don’t respect their audience at all… shirtless selffies and general disregard for putting their best face forward… I was so disappointed.. and if there was a gentleman that I thought might be a good match… he would totally blow me off.. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ! BEING ALONE IS BETTER THAN WISHING YOU WERE! : )
ross9021 says
I, like several other reviewers, got billed for 6 months when I only wanted 1 month. Because I responded to a FLIRT, I could not get a refund. 3 Months in, 1 date. They keep sending me the same guys, day after day, and give me “additional” matches that are over 150 miles away. If I’ve already contacted them and they blew me off or vs versa, why would I want to try the same guy again? There is no criteria to the matches, it is simply geography. Many of the photos are “selfies” and are as scary as the average mug shot.
90% of the 55+ guys claim Athletic & Toned as their body-type and are looking for a 55+ action Barbie. If I was spending as many hours in the gym and tennis court as these guys claim, when would i have time to date?
EFS says
What a rip off…I am being sent men, for matches. I requested women only and within a certain age range. Ummm no, not even close. I have also been sent the same matches over and over. Even if you click ‘NO’ for possible match – you will receive the same person again and again.
What a waste of money.I’m deleting everything and will just have to take the loss.

Our Time has some kind of internal glitch or someone on the inside sending out notices like this you in your email:
Our Time ( when I click on the blue line it reads the email came from a “Mike Morris” and yet two others from a “yen11”.
This is in body of email: You have a messzge waiting on you.
Our Time
Both these names have altered so you cannot send an email back or trace origin of email.
Do not spend your time and money on this poorly run site!

I tried this awhile back and echo just about everything everyone has written. I was bombarded even after I paid, but personally, I’d prefer someone with teeth who cares enough to bathe and who is also actually datable by proximity. Luckily, I was so disgusted, I did like another reviewer and deleted my picture, profile and checked the box to not receive emails. I did find a number and ended up speaking to someone in either the Philippines or India. I was put on hold several times during the call for a total of an hour+, but in the end, I threatened a class action lawsuit and explained it would result in the guy losing his job. After another brief hold, I got my refund. If I can find the number, I will post it on here. Online dating might work for some, but not me. I’m joining a hiking and biking club so I can meet real people, but at this point, I’m happy being single.

Ourtime dating site,is a sure way to look for someone who is not looking for you.(I’m new at online dating, maybe they are all like this) I do not have a problem attracting men in real life, but this site is unnerving. Ourtime was to be a safe place to chat before meeting. Matches that are sent to me are not matches at all and have a 1% response back from men I wish to chat with. Yes the cost is low, but I have learned you get what you pay for. I’m not a fan and will not renew.
Panda Lu says
Our Time was a waste of My Time.
Although I wasn’t looking for a “Serious Relationship” or “Marriage”, I still wanted to be treated with respect. One guy was such a story teller, at 60 he was young enough to know the internet and should have been old enough not to play games. Did he not think I could verify all of his stories? He may have been a widower but he was also a divorcee, he didn’t own a huge business that all assets needed to go thru an attorney for him to retire, he was a state employee hanging in their for his full 80% pension.
There are so many ways to ck these guys out up to and including your state’s court web site if you know their name to check out domestic violence, etc.
One guy stated he had a Masters degree, he was actually socially retarted. He stated he was 5’2″, no problem for me. I actually saw him at a gas station, he was ahead of me, he was really about 4’5″. The shortest non dwarf person I have ever seen.
And the last encounter that really turned me off was a man I corresponded with for about a month. Very nice seemingly intelligent man. Our emails went from every other day to every day to several times a day. They became more intimate as time went along (not sexual but personal) ie: “text me when you get home so I know you made it home OK”. We planned to meet in about 10 days from then. I never heard from him again. Finally I sent him an email through the Our Time system and his response was quite emotionally abusive. Man did I ever dodge a bullet on that one. Emotional abuse usually leads to physical abuse. And if not, emotional abuse is just as damaging as physical abuse.
My advice is, before your time is up delete everything on your profile including your picture. Then un check the box that you want Our Time to email you when new flirts, inbox, etc comes up.
ALWAYS block people that creep you out.
I will never use a dating site again, but I guess I had to find out for myself. Panda Lu (happy to be alone, my husband was just to wonderful to try to replace him).

Hey all;
I think it is misleading to say you can join for free and not get any contacts unless you upgade. Then you can’t join for one month as they BILL YOU RIGHT AWAY FOR 6 MONTHS.
I did not renew my membership last fall 2012 and was then on the free membership. I was out of the country for 4 months and then got back and see that I have lots of mail but MUST upgrade to see mail and/or to respond to anything.
I tried to edit my profile and COULD NOT DO IT….so found that frustrating and the HELP would not appear as had to ADD cookies. I keep getting outtime emails saying I have new flirts/emails etc but that is ONLY to get a person to UGRADE.
See people on the site that have changed their names but have been on the site forever. One guy whom I met said he had been asked by OURTIME to stay on the site as he was a good looking dude…

Wish I had read up on this site before joining. Previous reviewers are spot on. OurTime is a total waste of your money. Perhaps one of the drawbacks to this site is the ability to make an initial, cursory contact with anyone. This happened to me, receiving a flirt or the a ‘like’ or such. As a subscription member I send a message of interest. Well, unless the intended receiver is also a subscriber they can’t see/read the message. In retrospect this is a rather clever way to trap or trick people into joining having given them the illusion that a chat was a click away. Wish I could say ‘Join this site!’ because I really think it would be nice for us more mature folks to meet safely. It’s not… stay away and hold onto your money.

The is no one checking to see whether the men are posting their actual photos. And, there are many who do not post a photo. Why, when I’m a senior, am I getting ‘matches’ from young fellows? And, I don’t understand why, when I set geographical perimeters, I got men from far distant places. I can’t find a telephone number to call to complain. And, I can’t get a refund, and my membership doesn’t expire for six months! What a rip-off.

Thank you for these reviews. I had bad luck with most of these sites…Match and E Harmony and this one sounded interesting. I also joined senior people which was a fraud. I will not be joining Our time either. You cannot really tell a person by a profile and I too have issues with 29 and 39 year old’s stalking older women. Someone out there should be able to come up with a way to meet people of like minds and age appropriate. Thanks for these reviews…it solidified my thoughts about not joining!

I agree with the other reviewers. I contacted customer service (misnomer) and when asked what city and state these calls were coming into I was told Costa Rica and was just blew off. After reading these reviews I just hope I’m not charged any fees because it appears nothing seems to be able to be done about this company. Yes, it’s all about the money-with everything.

I joined for one month. When my subscription expired, I tried to delete my profile. The site won’t let me! Not only that, but I can’t delete my photo or any of the text on my profile. When I click on “help,” it will not link me. This is a scam.
Lydia Wood says
I have to agree with the other reviews. In the beginning, I was receiving flirts likes; however, the flurry of activity came to a screeching halt. I received the brush off twice, and I really do believe these men were not really interested in getting to know me. I wonder why there are 20 somethings as well as those who are in their 30s on the site. Isn’t this exclusively for people 50+? OurTime is obviously not overseeing the new member applications. Lastly, I can write an email introducing myself, but they don’t respond. I believe this is incredibly rude and thoughtless. I won’t be renewing my membership.

Scam. Misleads on price. First few days all the flirts and guys who look tgtbt wanting to connect with you. Once you purchase a package, few days later, the man disapear
I have been on other sites and can tell that there are a large number of photos that are the same on other sites and have been around for years. They are not real.
They have mock profiles designed to catch your interest, but once reality kicks in those “people” suddenly cease to be interested.
Too bad!
Bupp says
Easily 90% of the women look like ‘who did it and ran’. The integrity of the website could be better maintained by insisting on a certain quality level for the photographs, which would discourage people from joining who were basically sloppy and confused about their life. That in turn might encourage a more respectable class of people to join. Sorry if that sounds judgmental, but no one joins these sites in hopes of finding fat slobs who take their pictures with cell phone cameras and the like. Also – the site sends three recommended matches per day, paying attention only to your age grouping and locale, but virtually nothing else pertinent to your profile. This is a rip off at any price
Steve says
I have tried both OurTime and Christian Mingle over the past year. I agree with the negatives. Save your money. I will not renew OurTime when it expires soon. I do believe in some cases people are expecting too much or thinking back to their younger days. They want perfect when they say they do not. Many of my emails went unanswered too. I think the chance of finding a quality match when expectations are not reasonable is less than 5% or maybe not at all. Everyone wants someone that is compatible to spend life with.
The sites are not totally to blame, but they will take your money and make you believe it’s so very possible. They are in it for the money and the goal is not matching people. The goal is to get more people on the sites. $$. The free market at work.
wot says

They also do un-authorized auto renewal. 400 un-resolved claims with BBB. Better to advise them you are contacting Texas Attorney General.

Ditto to all of the previous negatives. I know I’m not gorgeous, but I’m also not homely. I’ve gotten a few contacts, and when I do reply there is no response…nothing! Wouldn’t you think that if someone winks, or likes you that if you send a response to that contact you would get a follow up reply? Are these just phoney made up guys or something? I tried to cancel, but if you do you lose all of the money you paid. BIG RIP OFF!

I agree with the negative results. I too was excited about finally finding a website for the over 50 group. My profile and pictures were very nice in fact, but as mentioned above, only getting creeps and far away distance replies to my profile. What happened to common courtesy by the way. Whenever I DID send out a show of interest or flirt to men I found interesting on the site, none would reply….. Not like we are all barbie dolls or ken dolls anymore. Paid way too much money for a very disappointing experience with this site, thats for sure.

After only 3 days, I called it quits on this website. You can only see who viewed your profile and send flirts, unless you pay outrageous fees to use all the features, like chat, send messages and see you favored/likes your pictures. Total rip off!!!

TOTAL RIPOFF!!
The concept is good, horrible implementation.
A total joke of a site. Poor coding, just because you’re over 50 doesn’t mean you’re senile.
I’ve been online dating for a few years.
Match, POF, and OKCupid are way more professional.
A total joke of a site. RIPOFF! STAY AWAY

Don’t waste your money or your time. Half the mem lived across the country, the others were so stupid they put sexually toned stuff right in their profiles. I found two seemingly decent men but when I answered they wrote back that they’d met someone. I also saw the same men under different profiles-an outright scam. I’d call Our Time a joke…but jokes are supposed to be funny. And believe me, you won’t feel like laughing after your experience with this company.pre

This is the WORST one! LOSERS personified! I received hundreds of e-mails and not one worthwhile man to meet on here….The one’s I might have liked a bit were not in my State and these jerks send you an e-mail anyway telling you that if you lived in their state they would really love to meet you…There mission in life is to send flirts and stupid e-mails with nothing behind them!…They probably do this as a game….Mindless people!…..Damaged goods to put it plainly!….Too lazy to meet you if that should ever happen even if they live ten minutes away…..Don’t bother with this one!
Surely, SOMEONE out there can develop a website for the over 60 set and delete all these parasites and have men and women who truly are looking for a relationship and have good characters? Is this even possible?….

I would not recommend Ourtime to anyone. Even though my profile stated that I only wanted to date men in my area, I received flirts/messages from men who lived in states 1400 miles away. One guy’s profile specified that he lived in my state, but after we began chatting via the Ourtime website I discovered he didn’t. Some guys wanted money. One guy’s photo looked so much like George Clooney that I did a google search to see if he’d photo shopped it onto his profile. (If he really looks like George Clooney I don’t think he needs to join a dating website.) One guy made a subtle, border-line inappropriate remark in his message. After I received an in-your-face request for sex from another guy I contacted Ourtime and asked them to remove me from their website and refund the remaining balance. They refused. I guess they leave it up to us to police their site.
